are saved games transportable?

i assume it is okay to post a tech issue in this side of the forum.

are saved games transportable?

i have started to experience the well-known issue of crashing to the desktop (i've done the whole dx8 turning off debug, and all the other standard troubleshooting.)
the game was going fine for quite a while (i'm into march or so of the first year) now, i can only play for about an hour or two and it crashes to the desktop. if it wasn't for the greatness of the game itself, i would just stop playing.. however, this crashing is something i simply learn to live with (and save often)

now, if i wanted to uninstall and reinstall arcanum, could i keep my saved game and use it with the fresh install? i have not checked myself yet ( i am at work currently) but where are the saved games located, and what files do i need to keep?

 

Arcanum, modules, Arcanum, save. They are transportable. Also, there is an option on the install disk to wipe the game but leave the saves.
