Arcanum2.dat problem, YOU CAN HELP!

Somebody please help me!
The data portion of my play disk for arcanum is scratched and now I cannot even install the program. Would sombody please share it on KAZAA so that I can burn a new cd and continue happily with my life

just buy a lotion which fixes scratches on CD's

 

Toothpase works best, but I already tried that, the scratch is on the side of the CD with the writting on it,(the data is gone, not just jumbled) please help me, I let my somebody borrow the game and they gave it back to me messed up

 

You can get in touch with Sierra to get a new disc. They might charge you a few bucks for shipping. They'll probably want the old disc back as proof that you actually bought it, also.

 

Why would a scratch on the side with the writing on it do anything? Only the silver side is read...

 

OK, bare with me...
(Arcanum Play Disk (it has a dwarf on it))

IIIIIIIIIIIIIII - Ink w/ writting (For protection)
10101010101 - Data Porton (silver part bellow Ink)
XXXXXXXXX - Clear Plastic portion (to protect the data part)

The scratch I have goes though the ink on the top of the CD into the data part. (The scratches location is just to the right of "m" in the arcanum tittle but to the left of Pipes(at least I think that they are pipes) The install program gives me an erro code saying that it cannot copy ARCANUM2.DAT
Please send me a copy of ARCANUM2.DAT if its not too much trouble

 

Sure. Uploading a full CD's worth of data doesn't take a long time does it?

Reylter, just contact Sierra. I'm sure this is a pretty normal thing for them. People here are nice in general but even those with broadband are going to find it a bit beyond the call of duty to upload that much data for a slightly suspicious stranger on a website.

 

Those of us with 56k aren't even going to consider it...I don't download that much in a month, let alone upload it...

 

Thanks for your help, but I stole a copy from a friend and burned it...

BTW- Sierra wants ten bucks plus s/h to replace broken CDs
