Arcanum needs more fan art I'm on it!!! Working on this linking images thing... I swear. (she's far from done! I'll post when she is!) Any other art types around that frequent this incredible place? >_>
Did you pattern that revolver upon something particular? Does she have a story? Looking nice so far. I'm looking forward to seeing the final result. Others? Well... AeriousBlackwind posted a nice piece of Arcanum fanart not that long ago. Also, if you hunger for some more Arcanum fanart, you might want to browse the Arcanum folder of NK11 from deviantART. Not sure if she frequented our forums at any time, though. I, too, like to grab a pen and sketch something when I feel inspired every now and then. I drew Victor Salazar, one of my latest characters, during the second half of a rather boring lecture some months ago. Nothing overly fancy, but I like how it ended up, especially when considered that it was a quickie. Here he is, anyway. I seem to recall doing a sketch of Kerghan, but I have no idea where it is at the moment.
OOOOO I'd love to see kerghan. The best part about arcanum in my opinion is that its lack of graphics allow you to lend so much to the imagination in terms of characters [: Kerghan especially in that all you ever really see is a hooded figure... and the gun is modeled after general custer's revolver 0: http://historyshop.piratemerch.com/imag ... a_805.jpeg Thanks for link to NK11 I'll have to bug him/her!
After some quick research on Arcanum fanart on deviantART I found that, well, there is little to be found, sadly. There are a few noteworthy works, though. Personally, I would like to distinguish Mr. Trollspawn by toasttycoon as well as Arcanum by BruKsa.
That art by Bruksa makes a nice desktop background for my widescreen monitor on my netbook. Thanks for taking the time searching these up, they're all pretty nice. I like the OP's as well, very nice detail on the revolver.
Thanks for the compliments! Much appreciated! [: As for coloring it, truth be told I just started drawing about 1 month ago. I'm really really new to the art scene. I don't feel confident and ready to attempt coloring unfortunately. Coloring seems daunting to say the least, I don't want to destroy my picture... with pencil you can erase and redraw as much as you want... but with color... nope ]: Once I have her ready I'll show you guys my next project I am working on.. A Vendigroth themed "clock work girl" Basically a porcelain mask, a bronze breastplate, encased around her inner workings, wire mesh for hair(maybe) and... well... here is my first concept drawing of her, it will save me alot of describing!! She came out not as I had originally intended, the action of lip tapping somehow seemed more like smoking an imaginary cigarette haha! I disliked the shoulder armor because it didn't feel technologically themed I need to figure out the mechanics of her shoulder and elbows. Unfortunately Vendigroth is a hard place to theme things after, save for the green metal of Vendigroth that I plan to integrate into her, there really is only one reoccuring theme and that is a victorian era feel to their construction. Its rather close to the art nouveau movement, If you could see vendigroth's ceilings I would imagine they look like this Sadly alot of things in arcanum really seem to lack the symbology that one would hope to be able to integrate into native characters. Nobody in still water is exactly waving a flag, ya know? Save for Tulla and the reoccurring magical themes you aren't left with much ]:
Ahhh that is true, I am trying to stay away from digital means of art creation for as long as possible though, I really REALLY want to master and fully understand drawing by hand before I move towards digital
This inspired me to do draw pictures related to arcanum. I might even do a painting. Pics will be posted when it's done.
Using the right software (and a tablet), drawing digitally can be just as natural as drawing freehand. I mean, the same motions are involved, the same frustration when a limb is distorted...all great stuff, really. But I do like drawing on paper more...I seem to have better "luck" that way. Except for now, when I'm in an artistic slump. I really like your art. It's more complete than any arcanum drawings I've done. The best I have is a half-finished half-orc technologist, with eye gear.
Yes, he's the demon trapped there who's very hungry. I don't entirely remember what the demons look like in Arcanum. This was fun...I actually made it today. If that's what he looks like I don't know if it makes sense...I remember the demons having bladed forelimbs, and I made his arms sort of look like Gigan's (of Godzilla fame). He does kindof look like a shark in this picture. Sharks are voracious eaters, though, despite not being totally true to character.
