Apparently (I've never tried it myself) you can use the world map to cross over the ancient maze, and if you time it correctly, you can jump to the normal map, right in the middle of the maze. By altering your trajectory, and by a feat of amazing timing, you can get into the little locked off place. You can get out just by going to the world map, and moving away. However, it's also supposed to be a really naff sword, or just a run of the mill sword that you can pick up anywhere. It's not worth it supposedly.
cheatravel... Haha, Ferret is right. That tactic is the best for entering places you're not supposed to! I once made a character and as soon as I had left Shrouded Hills I went to the Vendigroth wastes and tryied to enter in Tulla, as the mage didn't let me, later I figured I could try that and appeared inside of one of the rooms with the cantos (I could leave Tulla by passin through the pillars). But you must know that it was difficult to get inside Tulla, and to get inside a little square I think it'll drive you maaad! Just wait to see if someone here knows how to pick it up... I heard that sword does almost the same damage as the Kryggyrd's Falchion...
Vendigroth Yes, the Gateway to the Wastes appear if you go there, but the Venigroth Ruins won't appear until the right moment... so it's just useful to go to Tulla. If you want the coordinates to the Gateway: 466W; 742S So I had in my Logbook the Jongle Dunne mission completed and right after it was the one to retrieve the water purification gem from Albert... Also it said "Hero of Shrouded Hills" in the reputations and then "Master of Divination"...
