Because Palindrome wasn't crazy enough for the Tea Party.

Any thinking person should be genuinely concerned about the strides these people are making. You know your nation is up shit creek when significant portions of the populace wants a homophobic creationist hatemonger who knows fuck-all about the constitution she claims she wants to defend in the Oval Office.

Thank you for that clever suggestion.

Unfortunately, it didn't turn up much.

I don't understand, Dark Elf. Why do you hate women?

Ron Paul. He's actually a politician, and not a money-grubbing face-man. The media and every other presidential candidate is completely ignoring him, and the people love him.

That was an autocorrect on my iPad, by the way, not an effort to be funny.

Hey, what's the difference between Palin's mouth and her vagina?
Only half of what's come out of her vagina is retarded.

From the perspective of a Swedish person who doesn't understand American politics at all (and just spent a mere hour researching the matter), Ron Paul seems to be the person I'd vote for.

Bachman is campaigning for the Tea Party. They started out fighting for small government and individual rights, then they adopted people like Glenn Beck and Sara Palin and now they are largely fighting for homophobia, white supremacy, and a Catholic theocratic government.

Ron paul (so far) has my vote.

Can somebody explain what's good about Ron Paul? Every time I read about his stance, it seems to be "If elected, I promise to immediately withdraw from every world affair and organization the USA is involved in, and then let individual states handle the rest while I do nothing".

We had a government operate like that in Canada three years ago, and there were protests over it.

He's actually following our constitution, for one, unlike every other politician who chooses to amend it or make extremely personal interpretations of it, influenced by their knowledge of the Bible. He's going for a pro-America foreign policy, he's not turning the country into a hermit crab. We're the world-police right now, and it's really not good for us. Our dollar is only worth about 4 cents right now, because it's only based on our government's authority and the federal reserve just keeps flooding us with valueless currency. He wants the market to decide the ideal currency, and he's going to gradually phase out the federal reserve. He's going to make it harder for illegal immigrants to use our country's resources, and make it easier for legal immigrants to become citizens. Honestly I just started researching him as a politician a few weeks ago, so I don't know much, but I want to see him in a position of prominence in this country, as do a lot of other people. I unfortunately voted for Obama in the last election, and I'm not pleased with his progress.
I just think Ron Paul can do something in office, and not submit to his contributors when it comes to legislation. Either that, or he'll be assassinated.

He can't even make his son agree with him, how is he going to be effective at swaying Congress?

Yeah, but how could it be that such a large portion of Americans want these things? Too many people watching the O'Reilly factor?

It's not that large a portion, the Tea Party is just excessively vocal. It's like assuming all Norwegians are CommuNazi terrorists.

Precisely! 'Tis better to be safe than sorry.

Hot sauce and cold showers is the solution.
