Help! I can't solve the god's quest because I can't give an offering to Halycon in Vooriden. whenever I click the altar to place the olive branch I can't seem to open it!!! I've repaired the altar already and even the priest says that I can make an offering and I am still unable to open the altar.... what gives???? Is there a hack I can use to solve this problem???
okay, because i'm really, really sweet (not to mention bored out of my skull), i went and looked this up for you... general past consensus says this is one of two things... if you haven't completed the gods quest in order, halycon won't accept your offering... make sure this isn't the problem before trying the next step. if you want a walkthrough for the gods quest, go here: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/characterbank/quests.php and choose Arcanum Gods Quest from the top box... if you've done the gods quest correctly, it may be a bug... in that case, follow these instructions... you need to undat arcanum4.dat, then edit "01269Edwin_Wallows.dlg" in line 94. In the last brackets insert "gf2535 1" and save the file in ArcanumDatadlg. This will mark the altar quest as done. WARNING: This is for the german version, i don't know if it is the same line as in the english version. Content should be something like "...may i sacrifice something?" or the like. NOTE: This isn't cheating, for this line will only be available after solving the repair-the-altar quest. note: these instructions are courtesy of a previous post by Lothar on 10-29-2001. please direct all praise in that direction. if this doesn't simplify things to the lowest common denominator, i don't know what will... and if you don't have enough time to search for this info, how do you have the time to play? next time, do it your self...
