Who agrees with those "one night stand"s? Who thinks that teens/kids should be allowed to go to the local conveniance store, buy a condom, and commit adultry with any old girl one night, and then just break up or do it with someone else the next night?

Assuming you are talking about adultery? Of course, adultery is defined as "voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person other than his/her spouse" so your other examples don't even relate. But, anyway...

I don't condone adultery. Once one has made a marriage pact, one should be committed to that. Don't want to stay faithful, don't make the deal...

One night stands: nothing wrong with that, if both parties understand that's what it is.

Teenage sex: can't support that. Anyone not old enough or mature enough to deal with the possible consequences of their actions should not be doing it. On the other hand, human nature is what it is. So, what to do? Birth control and STD protection seems the obvious answer... <shrug>

So, you are saying that there is nothing wrong with two ADULTS having sex on a moment's notice, as long as it isn't just for the feel, and teens should be protected from it via GPS?

    Yep, that's about it.

You've lost me. "as long as it isn't just for feel"? WTF does that mean?
    And what is GPS?

Personally, I think that when you grow up and have sex once or twice, you won't have to dwell on whether other people are sinning by doing it... It'll also cure that hairy palm of yours...

    :p

It's wrong to have sex with some one who isn't your spouse if you are married, but here's my thought on the other stuff.

It's no one else's business what goes on in your bedroom.

I think that's pretty much self explanitory.

Isn't just for the feel means that they do it for REAL love, not just because they like the feel of it, and GPS is the Global Positioning Service - they will soon insert chips into people that the GPS can track, so they can tell where they are, and the chips will eventually be able to track a person's life signs, which may also be able to guage that kinds of stuff by regualting the hormone that makes a man want to have sex.

It's Global Positioning System, and the technology involved in chipping people is nowhere near that advanced and won't be for dozens of years yet.

The only functionality the chips have is location checking. They can't get a transmitter anywhere near small enough to put in a chip, and the smallest ones they have that can reach a satellite causes intense cancer in the region of the implant. The smallest transmitter is also pretty huge and needs a hip battery to operate it, so it's not exactly an implant either.

Ah, yes, System - not Service. How dumb of me...
I beg to differ, however. Just this year, they implanted GPS chips into all the inmates at the California High-Security Prison. Also, I just read in a magazine awhile ago the idea of making a chip that will hold your medical records and check your main body functions is being worked on.

Yes, but you've just highlighted my points.

    1. They have only developed locating chips.
    2. They cannot transmit the data - just have them readable like the chips they put in your pets.

Ah, I thought you meant they couldn't be seen by satelite at all.

The location chips are satelite readable, but the data-gathering ones aren't because they can't get a small enough, and harmless enough transmitter to do it.

However, they HAVE developed monitoring chips that send the data remotely to a pack worn on the hip, which then sends the data like a mobile phone to certain masts around the area. It's still not up to implant technology though, as the battery pack is enormous! :-o

I heard it is being developed for the US army as a replacement for dogtags. I think they only hold the info on the person, not checking the body.

Yes. The checking the body thing is just an idea.

How quickly a thread gets from sex to dogtags. Rather depressing, actually.

Let's get back to the subject, then.

What goes on in privacy between consenting adults is no business of anyone, down to and including preteens with too much time on their hands, nbrosz. If you choose to commit adultery, then you are breaking a marriage vow; your promises are meaningless and you can't be trusted, but it's still no one's business but you and your spouse.

What confuses me about this argument is that you seem to be complaining more about how easy it is to acquire condoms. Are you suggesting that the solution is removing the ability for safe sex?

In any case, it's really none of your business. In the case of minors, it's the business of the parents and guardians if anyone at all, and certainly not for a religious fanatic to interfere with for the sole purpose of making a point.

How can you agree with a one night stand?

Anyway, of course kids shouldn't be allowed to have sex, kids should be kids. Teens, sure, why the hell not? S'long as they use a condom, nothing'll happen. And if a mishap leads to an unwanted child, there's ways to go around that. One way involves a pill, another involves a doctor, and another involves a plastic bag and a big rock.

As for adultery, it's bad. What else can you say, it's another word for screwing around your wife, it's bad.

Perhaps is just that i have a bad English vocabulary but could it not be the other way around. I think that presuming that only males can do adultery is a very old "male" thought and that you should appologise to all the females on this board.
nbrosz you sound like yeayea. STOP IT! :-x

Yeah, RK. How dare you assume that women keep their marriage vows!
