Hello, I'm still sort of new to all this, so please forgive me if this is obvious to anyone else, but: When I try to pickpocket a store owner (Let's say the wise woman or Ristezze in Shrouded Hill) I go to pickpocket them and they have on their possession 3000+ gold, and yet when I actually transfer the money over (And my pickpocketing SUCCEEDS) my new money total only shows that I gained 100 gold, not 3000+ Is this what's supposed to happen, or is there a bug in my game? Note: just for kicks, I saved before and killed the shopkeeper. I looted his 3000+ gold just fine, and kept all of it. So why when I pickpocket do I only get 100 gold for my efforts? Is this intentional? Thanks if anyone can help me out with this little conundrum. - Windmills :bunny:
It's intentional. I think it's supposed to keep pickpocketing from being "too good." Basically, we learned from Fallout that players are dishonest and will reload 'til they pickpocket what they need, so this is an artificial limit to keep you from doing that (unless you're VERY patient).
To by-pass this problem, simply stop stealing money - and steal GOODS instead. Then sell them for more than 100 gold apiece. Do this to shopkeepers and you can then sell their own stuff back to them, pickpocket it again and repeat until the money's gone. Sleep and repeat. Easy money.
I never had a problem with money, I always had enough crap to sell to get money so I didnt steal much.....well I louded up from Ristezze when I start, but other than that.....aslong as know one finds that ditch full of murdered half-lings....oh crap
Thanks everyone! Thanks everyone for helping me out!! I've looted the shopkeepers merchandise and sold it back to them a few times now, and you're right: it's much more rewarding. Thanks again! - Windmills :bunny:
