There is a sidequest, which is ignored in Terra-Arcanum walkthrough, involving Sir Garrick Stout, Adkin Chambers and Lady Druella. This "love triangle" quest also reveals a new location (A lair of Gyl Dolours), and Lady Druella even becomes your temporary follower (I could find no info on her on Terra-Arcanum's followers page). I must admit, the quest is quite important, cause it results you becoming both dodge and melee master. This quest is triggered in the dialog with Sir Garrick Stout (a rare bastard, indeed) only if you are melee expert and have all 5 melee points. I found this quest very interesting, and I'm just wondering why it has been overlooked? _________________ Name: Elrond | Race: Elf | Gender: Male | Scheme: Warrior Mage Good | Background: Ladies man [ This Message was edited by: Elrond on 2001-09-22 02:11 ]
Good question, considering it's also a fairly tricky quest. If you get the Melee Master before you get the Dodge Master quest, you can never get Dodge Master.
During this quest you actually become melee master. Then, if you are already a dodge expert, Adkin Chambers makes you a dodge master, so I can see no problems and tricks here. I became what I am exactly this way. _________________ Name: Elrond | Race: Elf | Gender: Male | Scheme: Warrior Mage Good | Background: Ladies man [ This Message was edited by: Elrond on 2001-09-22 02:35 ]
just finished it now. Although you get pretty evil for killing that meele master and his crew. Anyway not to get a aligment slip?
You only get alignment slip for killing the guards, there a positive bonus for killing the melee master. Best way to avoid killing the guards is to Magelock the barrack room door, this is about the only situation in the game where that spell is useful  However personaly I avoided most of the guards by standing well south of the melee master when I spoke to him. When the fight started the melee master charged at me and I didn't attract the attention of the guards as we were too far away from them.
yeah but still it's a trick, I shouldn't be like that. Although it's standard guard reaction seeying their captain get slaughterd. You should get thrown into the pit for that and it would make a whole new quest. too bad
Eh? Sidequest? Melee/Dodge master?! My charachter is melee based! Where abouts do I start this quest?
If you become melee master before dodge master, you will only miss Adkin's quest of getting Garrick's eyes. You can still become dodge master if you have lost eye cure potion because you can convince Adkin to train you even without mentioning about Druella. Oh, you need to be expert melee before talking to Garrick.
If you are a melee expert with FULL melee points, just go to Dernholm and speak with Sir Garrick Stout. You can find him in the eastern part of the town, near the barracks.
i feel the need to defend the Magelock spell. If you cast it on a chest, no one will take your items out of it. It's useful i tell you! USEFUL!!!!! arrrgggg really I swear. Useful!!!
Will it be added at the tab above (forgot what it is called)? Because if it does, it practically is useless.
