First, I absolutely love this game. There have been a few bugs and interface difficulties but overall the design and theme are great. Problems I've found: - Annoying lock-up in combat. I play in turn-based combat mode and occassionally the game will get stuck on a mosnter trying to make a decision. My only option is to quit and load a saved game. - Liam Cameron quest. I closed the magic portal but when I return to Mrs Cameron I find that she is invisible and I can't talk to her to complete the quest. - I can't access party member's inventories when shopping. I also can't access my on-person inventory (armor, weapon, boots, etc) when trading amongst my party. Game problem, not a bug. Good Points: - Multiple ways to go through the game. Right now I have a human knight. He's a melee fighter with some tech/magic ability. I can't wait to try the game again with a elf mage and a dwarven technologist. - The open character advancement. It's great that you're not locked into any one area. Anyone can take skills and spells and it's your specialization in these that defines your character. Tips I've found I've only just gotten to Ashbury so this comes from only seeing the beginning of the game. I've reached level 26 with only Virgil & Jayna in the party. - 2 points to get the Stun spell is worth it. I can take down powerfull creatures without suffering any injuries or take on groups by stunning multiple creatures so as to isolate the fights. - A spare axe should be carried. Who needs a lockpick when I have a power axe? Also useful against ore golems. - The mystic staff is not damaged from bashing things, unlike most weapons. Maybe it's because it's a bashing weapon, like hammers & maces? I'm working on a complete list of items found in the game in an Excel format. Right now it's close to 500 items and there's still some missing. I'll keep everyone posted of my progress.
Try pressing space(Switchs to realtime), and then repressing space. Sure your enemy will get an extra turn, but it beats restarting. Sometimes she'll wonder between her open house and her (locked)bedroom look for a pulsing circle from her Chapenu. Right above the amunition tab of your inventory you see two buttons. Ones a bag. While trading you can click on these two to acess your equiped items or switch back to regular inv. I think this might be what you wanted...
when mrs cameronis invisible, it's most likely noghtime and she's, ostensibly, in bed- hence the invisibility
Make that annoying lock-up anytime, anywhere! lol The most irritating thing (actually, the only irritating thing) about Arcanum is the inability of the game to make use of the computer's memory, hence causing it to lock-up every so often for a period of 10-30 seconds. I find that a really pansy-arse way of killing ore golems with my lady Half-Elf (Georgia Ki Dalari) is to summon a couple of wolves with my Stillwater Blade, and then run like a girl until they kill it. lol It works, but I've begun walloping them myself now out of boredom. WOW!   I would LOVE to see that when it's finished!   _________________ # ------ Georgia Ki Dalari ------ # "Virgil, if you keep telling me I can't hit things, I'll feed you to Dog!" [ This Message was edited by: Georgia Ki Dalari on 2001-09-25 23:39 ]
