Greetings, gentle players! I've been playing Arcanum for a while now, but never really asked for too much assistance with it. So here goes, a couple accumulated head-scratchers: 1. Does anybody have a table for the potential damage, and type of damage, that each style of grenade does? Is an explosive grenade at 20 stones really worth 4 times as much as a molotov at 5 stones. 2. What's the difference between armor class and damage resistance? 3. How does one access this "hotkey list" I hear about? I'm looking in Appendix 9: Quick Keys, and the only thing it mentions about hotkeys is that if you hit 'A', it re-activites the last-used skilll or spell. 4. How come you can right-click on potions and theraputics to use them, but not grenades Having to drag-n-drop the blighters doesn't help when the game is so mouse-intensive to begin with. Many thanks in advance
Welcome to the board Momaw. 1. Don't know. 2. Armour class is like a kind of dodge. It's the chance of deflecting a blow using your armour. Damage resistance is the chance of absorbing a blow using your armour. Thus the higher the AC, the higher the chance that you won't be hit, but if you're hit then you need a higher DR to detract from the damage you will receive. 3. Can't remember. It's been a while. There are keys to bring up the logbook, character sheet, that sort of thing. Try the first letter; L, C, that sort of thing. 4. Grenades need a target, potions don't. It wouldn't be too handy if you right-clicked a grenade and it blew you up would it? Try putting one in a quick-slot. You just need to left-click it and then left-click a target then. Much quicker. Also, for things like potions, other stackable items and (I think - not sure though) grenades and other similar multiple-occuring identical items they get auto-replaced. Once you click on the quick-slot item, it gets refilled by an identical item from your inventory. That way you don't need to reload them all the time. Quick slots are also very handy if you run out of room. Simply drag that huge unidentified armour or weapon into a quick slot and although it will still weigh the same, it will only take up the quick slot, leaving lots of inventory room to use. Hope this helps a bit. Continue to enjoy the game.
Molotov does fire damage, and I tihnk so does explosive grenade. Personally, I prefer Molotov, and only make the explosive ones for sale. I'm not sure if there is a table though. Besides, Molotov does continuous damage, which is kinda difficult to calculate. I'm guessing Concussion grenades do the same damage as explosive ones, but its normal damage and not fire.
