    :(

I've got the Bad-ass Dog, Magnus, Virgil, and at some point, Sogg as my followers. I've noticed that I am the only one among our group who's gaining levels. Virgil has stopped at 16 and so did my Dog. I just got Magnus and he's already at Level 8 when I met him. When we started travelling with Magnus, I've noticed that they are stuck at their levels and that Magnus, who is supposed to get quick level ups, considering that it only takes a small amount of XP for him to do so at his current state, is stuck at Lvl8. I tried to let them do most of the fighting and I even wandered around to get more encounters to no avail.

If it's of any significance, I'm on the 1.0.7.4. patch.

    :-(

I'm at Lvl 17 as of the moment. Take note that I haven't used any type of editor whatsoever.

This may seem fairly basic but... As you go up level, so do all your followers, they don't go up a level at any other time. So, if you aren't doing any fighting and therefore (supposedly) not gaining exp. points to go up levels your followers can't level up because you aren't.

Actually, I am doing some of the fighting. That is why I've observed that only my character's XP requirement for the next Level up decreases after each battle. I wish I could say the same for my followers, but at some point they got stuck at a certain XP. Take Magnus for example, I met him outside P. Schuyler's and got him into the party before we entered the store. At this point, I took notice of his XP requirement for the next Level, which was at 6000 at that time. We went in, sliced and diced and Magnus' XP still hasn't changed. Same goes for the Dog, Lvl 16 XP=51900 at that time. :-? :???:

I'm not sure if will work, as your problem is rather weird, but have you tried running a repair on your install? Or perhaps going to an earlier save game and seeing if it still happens? You may have to experiment and see if your earlier save works fine up to this point, and just keep that save. I'm not very helpful, am I? Oh, well, give it a shot.

I'd suggest a simple test to make sure your characters aren't gaining levels: Note down all the stats for one follower right before you make a level, then check those same stats, afterwards. Sometimes the differences are pretty subtle and easy to miss.

Followers only level up when you do. Ignore their "xp needed" it's irrelevent. If you want to test, go on a dungeon crawl and when you go up a level check your followers, if it hasn't changed THEN you have a problem. But don't expect them to level up without you doing so as well.

For low level characters, that is. For high level Liam's portal is way better.

Ah... so now I see. I gained a level and all my followers did as well. I was expecting the XP scheme to be somewhat like that of Baldur's Gate. Mr. Nobodie was right about the followers' level up dependency on the main character. :)

As far as the Ashbury graveyard is concerned, I did that before I noticed this "irregularity". It is a nice place to chop off some heads. But as far as my embarkation is concerned, so far I find Liam's Portal quest a good beef up(provided you don't close the portal immediately). Of course I still have to try the other areas, like Tarant Sewers.

    Thanks guys. :D

Yes, the graveyard is a good place; the zombies are slow, easy pickings, and there are many of them in staggered groups. They are also consistent. (Just don't venture inside the crematorium. You might get more of a sun tan than you expected.) The sewers, on the other hand, are anything but consistent, with very low level rodents in some areas, and some rather nasty creatures even for level 10-15 groups, as well. This means you either you probably won't get enough experience to matter in the Sewers and leave disheartened; or you could end up getting killed, and leave in a bucket. :/ But, each to their own.
