I've been putting points on the Smithy skill so I can create a balanced sword but I can't seem to figure out what's missing. I've observed that once I allocated points on the Pure Ore skill, it automatically gave me a schematic for Pure Ore. Just as I finished gathering the necessary "ingredients", I was able to create Pure Ore. I then purchased 1 Fine Hilt and Guard and was hoping to combine it with Pure Ore, of course I already allocated points for the Balanced Sword, but it just ain't happening. I am aware that you can purchase schematics from a smithy, but isn't the Balanced Sword readily available once you've put in points on the skill? :-? Thanks
Yea, it is. So you have the schematic and pure ore and a fine hilt, yet you can't make it? Are you patched?
1)Do you see the schematics for the balanced sword as learnt? Maybe you TRIED to invest a point into these schematics, but your INT was too low to learn it? 2)Maybe your skill in the discipline is somehow not enough.Try buying a Smithy manual
But his skill should be enough by default of buying the 2 schematics. Unless there are mitigating circumstances... I don't know what mitigating circumstances negatively affect disciplines, but hey, there could be some.
I've installed the 1.0.7.4 patch. And as far as schematics are concerned, I bought the one for Charged Sword(that's why I'm eager to create the Balanced Sword ). Now that INTELLIGENCE was mentioned, I still haven't placed additional points into that. Hence, my INT is still at 8.
(Sorry 'bout the last post, forgot to indicate my Username) BTW, Although I have placed a point on the Balanced Sword, I still am unable to view the schematic for the Item. I've even tried the Toggle for the Learned and the Bought Schematics(if that's what those are called). However, a Smithy Manual wouldn't hurt. But I haven't encountered such a manual, at least not yet. Where do I get one?
When you are in the learned schematic option (the button with the graduation hat) you see the schematic for Pure Ore, right? Now click on the curved arrow (turn page) on the top right corner of the Pure Ore schematic. It should turn to the Balanced Sword schematic. Voila!
HolySh@#! :-o Can't wait to try that one out once I get out of the office. I'll check out Tarant as well. Thanks a bunch to y'all!     I've got all of my Five thumbs in salute.
BY the way, if all you need is a Balanced sword, there's no reason to actually learn the schematics. Magnus can make balanced swors, and once he levels up, also feather weight axes.
Yea, but if you don't know how to page over in your schematics it won't matter. Jesus, should someone just post the fucking manual online!
It does already exist online. Available for download at: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/station/downloads.shtml
By the way, just downloaded the manual. And there is supposed to be an arrow for the "next page" function but it wasn't there until I decided to do a "Repair" on my installation. Next thing I know, it was there. Just tried it last night and I now have my Balanced Sword. With regards to Magnus, just met him in Tarant. I chose to wander a bit more in Blackroot, Dernholm and Ashbury to gain more experience before heading to the Big City. I noticed that Virgil and Magnus don't get along too well, but that, my friends, is another story. And since this is the first time I am running Arcanum in my PC, I don't want to know about Virgil and Magnus further than what I already know. Thanks. All of you have been of great assistance.
By the way Blinky, nice quote. "Not all who wander (are) lost", they're just trying to gain more experience.
Welcome aboard, Pyro. If you need to add something to your message just click on the edit tickbox on the top-right-hand corner of your posts.
I believe the full quote is "All that is gold does not glitter; not all those who wander are lost." I may be wrong about that though. Shoot me if I am, if you can find me.
i dont know if youre wrong but im taking the chanse that you are. :akimbo: :rifle: Demosthenes :minigun:
"All that is gold does not glitter; nor all those who wander are lost." Gods, I must have read that through three times back in the 1970s, when it first appeared in the US on Ace paperbacks. I didn't realize at the time that Ace had actually bootlegged it, and they were (rightly) taken to court over it by Tolkien's estate. I'll pass on shooting you, though.
Hey Demosthenes, just out of curiousity, are you comparing yourself to the real Demosthenes of Athens? Would that mean that you encourage revolution?
