    If you mean, is there a pickpocket apprentice in any of the cities you reach before caladon, yes there is. In Tarant, there is a man in a nice suit that walks around the area down by the house of the man who gives you your first quest for the Theives Underground, if you talk to him, he offers apprentice training in all of the theivery skills. Kinda tricky to find, but very valuable! :)

    Yeah, I found him...also found that the guard in green in SH will mark the city to the south for you (forget the name..starts witha D, where sarah toone is...)
