    HI :)

A month or two ago I managed to track down the demo to Arcanum. I played it and enjoyed it. I've been thinking of getting it, but it's only been recently that I've been in the mood to get it.

Anyway I live in the UK and it is hard to track down a copy in shops. I've found an online store that sells it but it costs £30. Now I want Arcanum but I'm not desperate enough to pay full price for it.

I was wondering if any of you guys know any other sites that have it in stock and ship to the UK. I must mention that I've tried amazon.com and it keeps giving me an error message saying "can't ship to that address"

If this is in the wrong forum, then I'm sorry I didn't know which forum to post this in.

    Thanks

yea... Ebay is a great place to look, and you *might* try some American sites, some of them will pay the shipping if it's over a certain amount, so save up a bit, buy somethin else, and you'll be save the $$ in shipping...

You're overpaying grossly if you have to cough up with 30 £ to get Arcanum. I gave away my original discs a while ago, which was all good, but then I got this horrible urge to play Arcanum again - and there I saw it, on the shelf, practically given away for 79:-

I guess, from the top of my head, that equals some 10 $.

However, it's a great game, so it's still a well-worth investment for you.

Thing is I don't really want to try ebay, I just don't like it.

Does anyone have any links to some american sites that sell it and that import it to europe(more specifically the UK) ?

I can't do it right now because I've got to leave for school in about 10 minutes, but when I get back I'll wander sites and find some which have the best pricings, though wether many ship to UK or not I don't know, that you'll have to find out yourself... I'll just give ya a list of like 5+ which have the best pricing for it, and you can see which'll ship to your area...

I know just about everything is expensive in Amsterdam, but the equivalent of 30 pounds is ridiculous for an out of print game. You can buy it new, from Sierra, up on Amazon for $18, or roughly 16.50 Euros.

People have reported seeing it on bargin racks for $10 US here, so I am surprised that it isn't for sale at 16 - 20 pounds or less somewhere in driving or bus distance of you. Try the phone book & used game stores.

If I ever see it for sale for $10, I am going to buy every copy & post here so that Solarius & others like you can get it cheap.

Well thanks for the help guys.

I live in a small town in the UK(called Huddersfield), which basically has one major computer games shop. So I can only realisitically get whatever games they sell.

However I've had an idea. I go to university in Manchester(a big city) so I'm going to have a look around the town centre there for a while rather than coming home straight after my lectures :D

Hopefully I'll have better luck there, wish me luck. Anyway I'll post an update soon(though whether you guys will care is another story :)

    Cheers

Well I've checked the two shops I have found so far in Manchester. No luck I'm afraid :(

Anyhow I've yet to find a videogames shop. The shops I've been to so far have been basically multimedia entertainment sellers i.e. everything from dvds to music cds to vhs to games cds etc

I'll probably go in for another look tomorrow to see if I can track down a GAME store.

Anyway this is basically another shameless bump. If anyone can help me, please do. All I need is a link to a website that sells Arcanum and ships to the UK.

    Cheers

Sorry, I can't help you finding a good web-based store which ships to the U.K (I never purchase things on the net so...)

However, you're bound to find a games store in Manchester. Heck, Manchester! Isn't that another one of those cities that hold about as large populace as we do as a whole? I bet it's one of the biggest in Great Britain...

Seeing as the closest city, Umeå, has a mere 100,000 inhabitants but like four (could be more) specific game stores, Manchester is a shame for the whole empire if it doesn't have one.

And well, if there aren't any, open one up yourself and become rich! Just remember who gave you the advice so you know were to send 50% of the profit share :D

I know you mentioned amazon, but were you talking about amazon.com or amazon.co.uk? I'll be surpried if the latter won't ship to your little hamlet. And if it won't , make a friend in Manchester. They're sure to shp there. There's a legality issue with amazon.com shipping to the UK, but not .co.uk. That's their job.

    Have you tried here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... gory=11050

This is an eBay auction site, one of several for Arcanum, where the seller is in the UK. (The location is noted on the search page; just look for GBP next to the current bid amount.) At 7 pounds 30, it's not a bad deal.

I've tried both. Amazon.com won't ship to the UK and amazon.co.uk doesn't have any copies available in stock :x

And eBay does, as I've just written in the post above your last. Was I using invisible html ink? ;)

If you'd have read this thread in it's entirety you would have seen my post which stated that I just don't like it  so I pretty much skipped your post as soon as I saw the word ebay. I hope I wasn't using invisible html ink when writing the aforementioned post :p

I'm mainly looking for links to online stores which ship to the uk. If I can't find any then I guess I'll just have to do without the game  or if I'm really desperate for a crpg cough up £30+ to the online retailer I've found.

anyway thanks for the help and suggestions

why, exactly, dont you like ebay? i've never had a problem with it...

considering the fact that its your best shot at getting the game i dont know why you wouldnt at least consider it. this is really one of the best rpgs i've ever played.

    oh well, your loss.

My thoughts, too, Sleek Jeek. I've used eBay before, and successfully. But if the poster wants to whinge repeatedly about the fact that he/she can't find the game anywhere, you'd think they'd reconsider eBay as a possible option.

And Zappster: If you'd read the thread in its entirety--as you suggest I do--you would have found that I posted some time back, as well. :p ;) Since the extent of your reasoning for dislike of eBay was, and I quote, "Thing is I don't really want to try ebay, I just don't like it," I figured your continued complaints about being Arcanum-less and the low quoted eBay price might add incentive. Guess it doesn't. Good luck finding the game.

I live in the UK (Wigan) and had exactly the same problem. I went to California in the summer and scoured the computer shops over there as well - still couldn't find it. I managed to get it from an online US store ($15 I think) and got it shipped to where I was staying.

Ebay are worth a go in my opinion.
