Look up the "Arcanum Gods Quest" in the questbank for full spoilers.

    Find it here: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/characterbank/quests.php

I don't think you're really "given" the quest, it's more like a rumor you hear of after talking to Aldous T. Buxington (elven professor at Tarant University).

I've never done the gods quest, but I have a character that is due for it (haven't played him for like 2 months, other stuff got in the way...) but I guess I'm doing it sooner or later. Will probably turn out to be the first elf in existance with mastery in firearms :)

    True that.

    +100 Hp/Fat +2 Melee +3 Dodge +4 Dex +3 Pickpocket +2 Firearms (lose previous circle bonuses)

Pretty a hefty bonus. Can turn you from being a fairly weak character into a veritable tank, and with some careful planning, it can save quite some points for you, leaving you with points to spend at more unusual skills you maybe wouldn't invest in otherwise, such as gambling.

You do get it in the later stages of the game though, so you may want to put off some side-quests just to see how big difference it makes. A warrior/mage probably gets the most benefit out of it, but it's sure nice for any character.

Oh, and it's the only way for an elf to get full five ranks in firearms. Can't beat that. :)
