I've asked this a long long time ago, when I was still a clueless Arcanum newbie... but I forgot. Wearing the Dread armor, or any other kind of barbarian armor, is said to reduce people's reaction towards you. Does it also apply if it isn't you personally, but your followers, who wear the armor? Is the reaction penalty MA or alignment dependant?
As far as I can see the penalties are purely social. Nasty comments like 'I always wondered were barbarians keep their money' and such like. You probably also get a negative reaction modifier to boot, but I'm not entirely sure. -Stuart
Oh so it makes no difference? Well, finally I know how to give Jayna and Sebastian enough protection without too much encumberance
I've noticed that barbarian or dread armor does lower reactions if you wear it. Townfolk and your party members reactions usually goes down 5 points I believe. But I haven't noticed a change if your party members were it.
hmmmm, are there any kinds of barbarian armor other than "red barbarian armor" and "dread armor"? i liked the red barb armor, but i but i have magickal allergy for my background, is there anything stronger than red? i'm using electro armor right now, but i'm kind of tired of having to keep all of my stuff in everyone else's inventories just to keep my encumberence at "Light,"so i'm kind of looking for something that will keep me around 30 ac, but doesnt weigh that much...does the healing jacket have any benefits other than eating up all of your charges? or are there more advanced types of non-magickal barbarian armor?
Spoiler 1. if you go to Kree you can get a couple different suits/styles of barb armor 2.I had Virgil wearing Dread Armor in Tarant, and everyone hated me... so I believe it does effect reactions if someone in your party is wearing DREAD ARMOR I dunno about any other kind... I usually have Torian Kel wear Dread nomatter what... but then again, I'm usually welding the Bangellian Scrouge, so I don't think it makes much difference...
I just finished the game last night wearing a Healing Jacket. It's OK armour but not super-fantastic. It eats your charges by healing you each charge. If you are at full health it doesn't consume power.
Sleek_Jeek wrote- hmmmm, are there any kinds of barbarian armor other than "red barbarian armor" and "dread armor"? In answer to this, I know of, dread armour, red barbarian armour, dark barbarian armour, bronze barbarian armour and heroe's weakness armour (cursed).
