-Edit: Okay, so I browsed a bit down and saw a discussion on the very subject I'm on. Sorry for creating a new thread.- I make some free space on my comp and start installing. Surf to Terra-Arcanum.com, and download the latest patch. (1.0700 or something) Install the Patch. Launching Arcanum. I look at Sierra, I look at some guy pushing something. I watch some train and the text: 'Loading Arcanum...' I watch it some more... .... .... And some more. The screen finally bleeps away and takes me back to my Windows Desktop. I think: WTF? Again. -Completely repeat above part from 'launching Arcanum' - Again I get to see my Desktop. Now my desktop is nice with BG2's Queen Ellesime on the background holding a staff and a sword, while my original Diablo2 cursor moves over it, and I can see the quicklink Icons for ToB and LoD, and that's all very nice, but my Desktop ain't so friggin' beautifull that that's all I'm gonna see! When I hit Ctrl-Alt-Dlt I look at the list of active progs, and guess what? No Arcanum... Anyone have any idea what's wrong? Cause this is SO very sickening. _________________ On tap: Dwarven Ale. A few things to try: 1. Exit all programs running in the background 2. make sure you have the latest DirectX and graphics card drivers 3. run Arcanum in safe mode 4. worship the dark gods of PC gaming and beg them to make it work
Hmm... "1. Exit all programs running in the background" Nothing's active in the background. "2. make sure you have the latest DirectX and graphics card drivers" yup, did that. "3. run Arcanum in safe mode" Doesn't make any difference. "4. worship the dark gods of PC gaming and beg them to make it work" Hmm, guess my daily prayer to them when I get out bed aren't enough... Better find some young maiden to sacrifice!
I doubt that, because I've never had this problem before with any game... I have a Matrox G200 AGP, does anyone know if that isn't compatible?
at least you need a video card with 32 megs a CPU with +500mhz and 128 mb ram (a k6-II 400 with 196 meg ram and 8mb graphic card dosent wotk but it work with 32mb graphic card it works very slow but it works)
