I made a search on this topic, but couldn't find anything about it (which is quite surprising) - my question is this: is it possible to use the Resurrect spell to revive the corpses at the Crash Site? If so, what would they say? I know Stennar Rock-Cutter won't say anything useful if you summon his spirit, but what if you revive him? Will such a quest-important figure just go about saying things like "Hmm?", "Yes?" and "Sir?", or will he actually divulge something useful? Or was this possibility never thought of? I bet that someone has tried this - please tell me what happened .
I've spoken with the ghosts at the crash site and they all say pretty much the same things as most of the ghosts throughout the entire game. I remember asking myself some of these same questions when I was starting my necromancer character and I came to the conclusion that one couldn't get back to the crash site with a resurrect scroll before the bodies disappeared. I suppose one could modify the game so that you COULD resurrect the corpses although I sincerely doubt the game designers anticipated this occurence.
That's odd... you see, I don't think the bodies ever disappear for me - in one of my reruns of the game, I returned to the crash site right before I went off the the void (I'd forgotten the Arbalah-quest...), and the bodies were still there. If only I had a resurrect scroll... I'm playing the game through again now though... I'll return when I've tried this out .
As I remember, the bodies that held stuff stay, the rest evaporate. As it seems to be not hard to build a custom starting PC, I would be very suprised if no one had edited a start with a Resurect Scroll to try this out. Anyone? You could ask this on the offical VU Arcanum site also.
No they are unressurectable. :-( I was playing around with the editor and that very thought struck me, but alas, the game REALLY wants you to be the lone survivor.
Well, that sort of makes it then... of course, considering that you won't be able to get your hands on the Resurrection spell until lv. 15, you would rather be raising zombies than people. It would had been interesting, though I fear that most of the plot would be obsolete if you could just raise, alternatively Conjure Spirit Stennar and ask him out.
You can buy a scroll of resurrect before level 15. You can also get a Restore Life potion before level 15. You only need to be level 15 if you want to learn the resurrection spell.
Oh, yeah - but you won't be able to get one of those before some time either... at least you've got to travel to Tarant and back (never saw one of those in Shrouded Hills...) Since that journey would take something like two weeks to finish, you'd still be reviving half-rotten lumps of flesh rather than human beings
Half rotten lumps of flesh? Hm... sounds like most of my friends anyways... makes me want to ressurect 'em more! 'Specially if they can sit on a couch and watch tv! Anywho, the fact that none of them really talked all that much when I conjured their spirits with a necro test character really turned me off on the spell. Tell me, does it yield better/more interesting results later in the game anywhere?
Yes. There are several places where killing someone first & questioning them afterward makes life much eaiser. For you at least. And there is this murder mystery, you can question the victum. O. K. a lot of places where killing someone first & questioning them afterward is a real timesaver. Try Summon Spirit on the barely sentenient, Kites & Slither Guards among others.
Ressurection and Spirit Conjuring are very different however. I have yet to be informed on something though. The conjur spirit spell, can you trap it on someone with reflection shield?
if your near the end of the game you can always do what I did for some good fun: 1. accept the quest to assassinate the King of Caladon 2. let his body guards in. 3. kill all of them (guards and King) 4. resurrect the king, and do a 'conjure spirit' on the guards... why? because they get to watch you kill the man they are supposed to protect over and over!!!  I have waaay too much tyme on my hands.... but it's rather fun....
what does having a spice all over your hands have to do with you being an idiot who seems to think that the guards actually have the capacity to care about something like their own existence? its a game man! thats dag yo!
   I tested it. You can't trap souls in an agonizing state of eternal limbo. Whaaanhh   I wanna torture people!!!
