RC, shut up. therea are different levels of music fans, just because you devote all your tyme to listening to Pink Floyd and finding unreleased albums doesn't mean that everyone else does... it could just be that he is too busy with his life to hunt out Pink Floyd albums... or else he downloads music, and doesn't own any albums, but most songs... :lol: :lol:

If you guys haven't checked out Mogwai yet then you should. Instrumental post-rock is REALLY good stuff! I find that I'm liking instrumental music more and more these days. If band has a vocalist then I tend to prefer it when they use their voice as an instrument rather than the communicator of a "message".

 

alright I'll check them out, but look up Third Eye Open (and no, I don't mean Blind, I know who they are as well), they are an instrumental band... they play mainly tributes to bands... look for the "Tool" stuff, that's the best...

Shit, if you guys are looking for instrumental music, you can't go wrong with Sigur Ros. They don't even bother releasing lyrics, because I don't think they have ANY that make any sort of sense. Agaetis Byrjun and () are the only ones of theirs that you're going to find - I particularly love ().

Matt, Piper At the Gates of Dawn is hardly an unreleased album, it was just one of their first ones. I can get it if I want to, it's not like it's an underground bootleg copy. You also insult me when you suggest that I would download Pink Floyd, as well as Pink Floyd itself, and fans everywhere. Shame on you.

I don't really like instrumental, but I play trumpet, and some of that blues stuff is alright. My cd collection has regrettably been um, thinned out, by one of my sister's friends :x :x :x :x :x :x :x I only have a scratched up Beatles 1 that is unplayable, ad I lost the copy I bought to replace it, a System cd, at least that's something, and the Best of Miles Davis.

You'll also have to excuse me if any of my posts today are out of character, I didn't get my daily dose of dancing across my living room to the Night at the Roxbury soundtrack :cry: :-( :cry:

Speaking of annoying graphics, Sleek, let's talk about your sig.... Three large annoying animated gifs and one broken image link, don't you think the admin should ban crap like that as well? Or at the very least, don't you think your anti-smilie-abuse position would hold more merit if you replaced it with something more subtle, or better yet with nothing at all?

 

I'll even make a deal with you outside of moderators. If I don't have to see a half naked Chris Farley, then I will limit myself to 2 smileys a post, and if I break that, you can flame the shit out of me all ou want, ok

 

I've heard of Sigur Ros and I've actually listened to a few tracks that they did with Mogwai. I like their music to an extent but some of it is just too sappy. Mogwai's instrumental is more purposeful and I like that. I'll check into Third Eye Open and The Music if I get the chance but I am most unfortunately stricken with poverty right now. I NEED to find a JOB!
