How do I tell what version of the Game I have?

So I can tell what patch (if any) I need to download. Thanx.

 

Press [V]. Its in that paper with the map in the middle when opened.

 

There's also a file called Version.txt in your Arcanum folder that has it, if you don't want to start the game just to find out.

you know, I looked at that thing more than once and just didn't see it...

 

There isn't a version.txt. Where did you find this one? I found also found it in the readme.txt but it does not update the version number so it couldn't be dependable.

 

If you bought the game and haven't applied a patch yet, you have version 1.0.6.4.

 

Hmm...Version.txt is right there in C:SierraArcanum for me. I know I didn't put it there...Maybe it gets added with the patch?

 

Pressing V does nothing

So I finally tried it out and it didn't work. What Exactly is supposed to happen when you press V?

 

Try this, if youve run the game at least once there should be a file Arcanum.cfg in your arcanum directory. Open it with notepad and edit the line showversion = 0 make it equal to 1 then when you run it it will be at the bottom left of the screen in the load game screen.The other options are also there like always run, etc...

If you havent run arcanum yet the file will not be present... that's all, hope this helps...

 

Oh, I forgot, you should have set the configuration of the game at least once too, since setting it seems to create the configuration file (arcanum.cfg). And the line is show version=1, believe me, I did
check it first.. Dunno how to use V key as the manual says..Anyway this will work 4 sure.. :smile:

Yup.. :smile: I even wonder why the portrait of Virgil is that of Perriman. Anyway that manual is useful in answering those 500 gold worth question....
