Download Hard-Arcanum1.04 with new cool art.

Now game is easier.16 new quests for the thief have been added. Lots of charms of the gods have been made more powerful.

Lots of new art added (more than 60 items) including many fashion items. One encounter has been added at the start. General housekeeping .

Few minor bugs have been fixed .Lighting added to a few areas. Thanks to Zamuka for the bmp2art program.

You can now play both Arcanum and Hard-Arcanum at the same time with the cost of 1.2 Gigabytes at your hard disk.

If you are a sexy hot female you start with high heels.

If you play a dull man it will be difficult to find high heels .

But it still can be done ha ha ha .

Some ladies are known to wear them and you can steal them.

 

Imagine you steal them from a woman and they don't know the difference. You would probably see them walking down the street barefooted and on their toes. :lol:

I downloaded the hard-arcanum patch. For some reason i still start off in the Crash Site there are no new locations. The new backgrounds and magic changes have taken effect though. Anyone know why?

You are not running any other mod with this one are you ?

 

Sorry about posting everywhere, but i am desperate because i have been working on this for hours. And everytime it is the same result

And i am not using any other mods. I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder Arcanum, and reinstilled in case there is a mod, but it still dont work

If you have arcanum installed here .
In this folder

F:\Sierra\Arcanum\modules

The following files must exist

Arcanum.dat about 348 Mbytes
Arcanum.PATCH0 about 19 Kilobytes
Arcanum.PATCH1 16469 Kilobytes.

Look at this folder and tell me if all 3 folders exist.

If the last Arcanum.PATCH1 file does not exist there then found out where it is and move it there.

 

Yeah they all exist, but the problem is not solved.

 

Try one more time to delete everything
C:/Sierra/Arcanum/data/proto/
C:/Sierra/Arcanum/modules/Arcanum/maps/

Use explorer go in those folder and delete all files inside these 2 folders.

Then start Arcanum a new char and please post what exactly happens then.

 

ok, after i delete the files in the 2 folders, i load the game, 2 movies played, then it starts to load. The short movie, then i go to new game, the new backgrounds are there, so i choose a male, human, background:robot to test the new background. The background works because i got a +4 for str, intell and pe and -4 for con and will. So this all work out. Then the shop. The shop have more items than before, like Li'tan and jewllery and other things that you couldnt buy in the start in the orignal game. But there are no new items. Then the 2 intro movie loads, and after that i am still in the crash site talking to Virgil, and Althea is nowhere to be find. The crash site is still the same. I walk around and all the dead npcs have more items on them and some monsters says 'fire immune'. But there are no new changes to buildings, towns, items or npcs.

I read from the instructions that you have to rename C:\Sierra\Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\maps to NOMODmaps. what does that do and it is necessary?

You either have to rename the folder OR go in the folder and delete everything.


This folder has the map cache for Arcanum.

If you do not delete everything inside or rename the folder then
OF COURSE you will not see anything new . :x

Go and delete everything in this folder or rename it.

 

But i had already deleted everything in that folder so it doesnt matter if i rename it or not.
