Christian fundamentalists are the servants of Satan. I doubt that the U.N. are a bunch of imperialistic fascists but I'm pretty sure that the U.S. is. The problem with the U.N. is that more "developed" countries have a LOT more say; if that's what you call imperialistic fascism, then I'm with you. When someone says imperialistic fascists I tend to think of openly hostile countries which are setting out to claim colonies under the belief that their way is right and that others' beliefs are inferior and should be replaced. The U.N. is fairly passive but that's not to say that their agenda isn't completely dissimilar to imperialistic fascism.

But that's just because Clinton gave imperialistic fascism such a bad name. Along with intern harassment.

I would have Clinton back in a heartbeat, rather than Dubya or any other crazed right wing born again Christian freaks. And somehow I doubt that intern harassment was started by Clinton. In my book, a country is defined by how it's run. We may not ALL be imperialistic fascists but the people who run the country are doing a "darn good" job making us out to be that way, hence my designation of this country. And while interns have been around for a long time and their harassment may not have always been at his hands, I feel the blame lies with Clinton.

speaking of harrassment, no one ever mentions any of the shit that went down with kennedy, the now mythic president caused more shit than he fixed. the only reason the bay of pigs and the cuban missile crisis ever happened were because he tried to have castro assinated about 12 times before the bay of pigs, which was just a botched assasination itself! then when castro turns to russia for protection we get all self righteous about it when the whole damn thing was started by our discomfort at how communism was a knock knock knockin at our doors (though i can understand the unease caused by the missiles). the only reason cuba is still so poor is because of our trade embargos, if we lifted those cuba would have thriving cigar and tourism industries and cuba would be fine.

compared to kennedy, clintons not such a bad guy. may be if someone had shot clinton in the head he could be a legend too.

 

I don't like JFK, or any of the other Kennedys. They're criminals, and shouldn't be immortalized. Especially not him, because he was an incompetent president. Clinton wasn't bad, in my opinion. What we really need right now is an Abraham Lincoln.

 

JFK was fucked up. Smoked too many drugs, took too many painkillers for his ruined back (which he fucked up when he beached his boat when in the Navy), cheated on his wife, and was generally incompetent. As I've realised, people only get to positions of power because the other side lost, not because they won...which is how JFK probably got where he got to. Whoever he was running against was probably just a fuckwit.

Ironic that there was so much controversy at the time over him being a Roman Catholic, isn't it?

With that said, you could argue that the ends justify the means, and Lincoln only did what he did to keep the country united & free the slaves. Hard to tell; some politicians were actually scrupulous back then.
