    ok. I've got a new OS system it's window's server 2003. and I can get arcanum to run but I can't find the DirectX control panel to turn off certin options to get rid of the black triangles of death can some one please tell me were to find it? please?

    I haven't used that OS, but are you able to go to Start -> Run, then type dxdiag and click OK? Should start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

    yeah. but I don't ahve my options. of turrning off things. like the 3D acceletrator that is used to kill the black squares of death
    uhm...... NO DUH SHERLOCK! it's a server OS. of course it won't be a GOOD game os. but once we do get a server It's going bye bye off my computer

    You don't have a Display tab with the option to enable or disable Direct3D Acceleration? :-?

    not with this OS. but it's only been 6 months out of the box. I know that's old but still not many updates. I also still need ot update my Monitor drivers and vid card drivers.

    Huh. I didn't think it was a feature of the OS but of DirectX. Have you tried consulting Annoyances.org?

    This is one of the reasons I use system commander!

    I run dos/win98se/winnt/win2k and win xp just by choosing from start-up list from system commander.

    If a game don't work in one os then I'll use another one!

    unfortunetly I don't have that option... :thumbdown: :-x :x but now I've got arcanum running and the editor up and running. but it's just disconserting to not see the videos

    I think that right there is your problem. Besides, if you're running something as new and shiny as Windows Server 2003, then you should know what you're doing, or try something else. No really, it's like the kid who installs Unix and tries to get things to work and wonders how.

    Well there's your first step.

    Step 2 is to go back to the box, dig around a bit and when you find a book in there, that's called the manual. What you do then is you READ THE FUCKING MANUAL.
