first thing how much use is the 20 bonus for pe and how many places do you actually use persuasion in the game
Persuation is used in every dialog to some extent! As for PE it allows you to scroll the screen to see everthing before your enemy can see you. Also the bonus gives you the ability to see any invisible beings. Definitely for ranged characters! Parmanian
It allows you to see invisible creatures (which I think only exist in one of the master mage trials, big whoop) and helps you with ranged weapons (or at least firearms, that one I know for sure) before you get mastery, which eliminates the range penalty. There's not much screen-scrolling difference between 18 and 20 PE, and personally I don't go higher than 18 myself.
even if you have 18 PE already isnt there a way to raise your perception with techy headgear? goggles? so yeah you should have 20 pe anyway, no range penalty sounds like nothing but a good thing
What's the point of that though, when you could stop at 16 PE and use the eyegear to get to 18? If you're not tech enough for the +2 PE just use the Trapmaker's Spectacles. The range penalty is negated by mastery. Don't kill the master before you've got the training and you won't need 20 PE to overcome the penalty.
Yup, it's the limiting factor for the following skills: Firearms Prowling Spot Trap Arm/Disarm Traps It also reduces skill light penalties. For example, in melee, you receive a to-hit penalty when fighting in the dark (as with all other forms of combat). A high PE reduces that (PE 20 completely removes it). I wouldn't raise PE specifically for that though. EDIT: PE also increases your chance to spot unknown locations when strolling around on the WorldMap. Hmm... I've seen that sig before. There was a guy at the NWN forums who had it, I believe. Are you the same guy, or is that a common statement?
I've frequented the NWN forums, but there might be others with that sig (at least 2 that I know of use it, on various forums). Now, if you ever visited any (major) Moo3 forum, that'd be me. You can recognize me (in most forums) by the image I've chosen for an avatar. Its always a variant of this: Now, if I could only teach this forum to use BM for an avatar.
I'd forgotten all about th- How did you know that? :-? I didn't realize I was all that visible over there... Then again, I do have a... unique and forcefull posting style.
Depends on what you mean by that. It isn't required for raising your Bow skill, but you knew that already. However, investing points in PE reduces range to-hit penalties and darkness penalties, which is good. Of course, when you become the Bow Master, those range penalties are eliminated, making your PE points quite worthless (unless you've invested in some PE dependant skills, that is)
Increasing PE will up your TH in broad daylight. Ask any bow Master to take off that magic hat or funny specs & watch the TH drop. But it will not plumett like a sheep.
