lost potion from garrick T_T

i was in the wheel clan mines and i wanted my dwarf follower (forgot his name lol) to wait while i drew out 1 enemy at a time

i accidentally asked him to leave rather than wait, but the same message dialogue came up, so i got rid of him, saved my game, and went in to remove the monsters

upon clearing the area i came back to my dwarf and asked him to join again

as usual he said no, but then when i tried a second time he just said no again

i tried a third time and again he said no

it seems he doesn't want to join my party again, and thus i have lost all the itesm he was carrying, including the potion from garrick

i went to still water and got the quest to kill garrick and upon killing him he didn't have another potion

i then spoke to the lady and she asked me to take the potion to the blind man, but i don't have the potion so i can't take it an finish the quest

anyone know where i can pick up another potion?

i spoke to the blind man again and he made me a master but i couldn't cure his blindness as i didn't have the potion >.<

 

If you have a save it is easy. Before releasing the Dwarf is trivial. After releasing him, pickpocket him. Otherwise, look where you found him, he will probably have returned, unless he was Jormund.

 

If the Dwarf follower is Magnus you can give him some Dwarven Snuff
to get him to rejoin you.
You get Dwarven Snuff in general stores.

If you have a save file before you told him to leave load it and don't tell him to leave again but if you don't you can do this...

If its not Magnus you can either pick pocket it off him if you don't have enough pick pocket skill to be able to get it then use a fate point when you do it or you can kill him and get the items off him.

 

Its sad to say Phildude you havefallen like the rest of us at one time or another of NOT having more than one save close to where your at, your definitely not alone. Usually I save at each level of a dungeon then delete them after the whole thing is done.

Back to your problem, someone has to know a way to edit your inventory file and put the potion back in. OR banful the party member get your stuff then resurrect (if you want to).

Since you just got the no response from him, you have an available slot open right? I've never had one released yet so I'll have to play around with it to see what happens.

I did read someplace that there could be a problem with your party members rejoining you like when your in the pit at the isle. I haven't had a problem yet with that.

usually i do have a few save files but i'd been going for about 2 hours and just quick saving as i went along

i guess it really doesn't matter now, if i can be bothered i might go back and look for him, but otherwise i'll just leave the quest unfinished

also

in tarant i think i let virgil leave me so magnus could join, since i could only have 1 follower

after leaving virgil i went to the post office and got the telegram for him, he then ran to the post office and talked a bit about teh telegram

soon after my charisma had increased enough to allow 2 followers, and i went back for him but he wasn't there

does this mean that he goes back to his original spot at the crash site or is he gone for good?

 

Far as I remember, you don't need a potion at all. Just rescue the girl, get your training, kill Stout, and go talk to the dodge master. He'll give you your training if you cure his sight or not.

 

yeha thats right, i have the training, i just wanted to complete the quest to bring back his sight =P
