I know it is "explained" on Terra Arcanum, but the explanation is a bit confusing so I thought I'd ask you, dear Lords. How do you figure out how many shots you can make with a weapon? Suppose I have to make a choice between a blade launcher (speed 6) and Droch's Warbringer (speed 13). Suppose the additional benefits, like being able to hold a shield, don't matter, only the average damage per turn does. Suppose I'm only just starting the game and can't get either of the weapons, but for future planning I want to know if I should boost my ST up to 16 (for the blade launcher) or only to 8 (for the LGR untill I get Droch's warbringer). How do I find out how many shots I will be able to make with each weapon once I reach DX20 (speed 25?)
I don't recall exactly what the formula, but the weapon speed is inversely related to the number of action points it uses. In layman's terms, when the speed is high, the number of action points is lower; when the weapon speed is low, the number of action points is higher. The number of action points is determined by your speed. IIRC, there is a chart on the T-A mainsite that explains the weapon speed to action point ratios. If you use that and check the number of Action Points you have, you can figure out roughly how many shots you would get.
It is only the best gun in the game. Faster than the more damaging two handed guns, more damage than the Hand Cannon.
Don't forget the Electrical Damage, 10-10. An extra chunk of nastyness that kicks the total damage up to 30-50.
In the unpatched game Droch's Warbringer doesn't have 10-10 Electrical damage. Are you sure you aren't confusing it for the Charged Accelerator gun?
It definitely does 10 electrical damage in the patched game. I wuv my Warbringer. Why aren't you patched?
