Ok I must REALLY be blind...I can't find it...I've searched that room over and over again! Blast!!!

Edit Note: I have gone back to my saved games, and there is nothing to click on behind the dwarf, save the fire and the chest...honestly, I see no place this pillar can be, and I am really confused.

Do you see a gray long thing behind or anywhere near the dwarf with some notes written on it? That's it. Simply click it.

Well from that screenshot, I'm sure you all think I'm crazy not to have seen that. But I suppose I was correct, my game is jacked up, because that is not there...I have NO idea why it isn't there either...bah I guess that means I gotta start over, thanks for the help all.

Even if you replay it, it might not be there again. You should get that patch.

Crazy Dwarf? Goddamnit!!! that means I have to go back through those blasted mines again!
Theres an area in the mines that I am unable to get through even at level 14, the area has tons of Kite warriors and a horde of wolves that all attack at once. =(

    I can't believe this...

So I start a new character, go through, get to the damnable dwarf, and no Pillar. Ok, I think, I didn't install the patch, so maybe if I do the patch, and start a new guy then the Pillar will exist!!! So I start over, yet again, and finally get down to the dwarf...only to find he has no fricken Pillar! This game is REALLY starting to hack me off...

    No Pillar...

Chances are good that if the pillar is not there, there will be other things later in the game that will be missing. It sounds to me like your installation was corrupted, I'd suggest uninstalling the game, and then rebooting your machine and re-installing the game. If this doesn't fix your problem, then I have no clue what to tell you.

Hey man, if you have a paint program like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, go back to the dwarf room, hit the print screen key on your keyboard, saving it to clipboard and paste it to a new file. Then post the pic in this thread. You may be overlooking the pillar or simply not in the right room.

Scratch that, you said you spoke to a dwarf about a pillar, you are in the right room. The pillar is smack dab in the center of the room and displays a message if you pass your cursor over it.

As Bubba would have said, you should read the post before replying. I already told Porthanos about this and I also put a screenshots for him so that he would know.

    http://arcanum.netfirms.com/temp/BMC.shtml

He said he can't see it so there might be a problem in his system or maybe he should re-install or repair the game.

    Friend,
Yeah sorry, didn't read through the whole thread, got overly excited to answer as I just made it past that part in the game.

This is one of the 'quirks' I was refering to in the 'Corrupt Saves' thread.

Ok, hopefully this post will be more helpful as my other one was silly-doh!
Check out what version of Arcanum you're playing, it should be on the play disk in a version.txt file. My working copy is version:1.0.6.4
    before installing the patch.
There's a slim chance that you recieved a copy of Arcanum from an earler batch that has an undiscovered bug in it, if you come to find that you don't have 1.0.6.4, I'd suggest returning the game as newer batches should now be on the shelf.

does anyone know if there are new patches in the horizon? I mean let's not joke here, the game still has bugs, I just hate spending dough on games that are like that tech wise.
Although Arcanum is worth it despite the bugs. Makes me wish everything was like PS2...
