Question about character level

when I down loaded the patch I believe that the read-me file mentioned that level 50 was the top end of the spectrum. Is this true?? I am level 46 and have topped out smithy, but would like to raise my eletrical doctrates and mechanical as well. not to mention other skills dodge ect..

 

It is the top unless you download a level hack. You can get it at the T-A Download site, or the Tinkerer's workshop at DoA

I don't know how difficult it is... surely has instructions attached... but:

I've heard of people having problems with that hack crashing the game at certain times... I don't know how reliable it is. That's why I don't have it, ey...

The game states somewhere that there is a level cap at 50. The patch allows followers to continue to level to 50 even after you hit it. Without, they stop when you stop.

crap...i downloaded the patch and installed it but now it says that i need to answer the cd for playing....

I have had the level 127 patch for over a year and have never had any problems with it. It isn't complicated, and won't cause lockup problems because it is only the modification of the experience tables.

 

Well, it does also replace your Arcanum.exe file.... it's not just a matter of modifying xp_level.mes.

 

Either way, it's never caused problems for me.

I have the level patch too...I haven't had any troubles with it..~knocks on wood~

I do wish I'd found the level patch before I got the character editor tho'...now it's too easy to just tweak the character in the editor..

yeah, i did that it said to re-name my arcanum.exe file but I am not sure how to find it, I opened the serria file with explorer and there is lots of stuf pertaining to to the game but i did not see a .exe file, This stuf is pretty new to me any help would be appreaciated.
