Does anyone happen to know the bonuses for 20 points at all the different stats - strength , dexterity , intelligence etc. ?

Someone here mentioned that the bonus for 20 perception is the ability to notice invisible creatures. I don't have a clue what these invisible creatures are. I've read that the bonus for 20 str. is double melee damage and also that the latest patch has somehow improved the bonus for max beauty.

I'm especially interested in the bonus for 20 dex. What is it ?

    20 dex: +5 speed (25 instead of 20 if you're not hyperactive)
    20 con: immune to poison
    20 be: +100 reaction (I think....)
20 ch: 100% loyalty; followers never flee and will never leave the party unless you ask them to
20 pe: sense invisible (somewhat doubtful in practice)
20 wp: immune to any spell that can be resisted by willpower
20 in: +10% success rate for every skill
20 st: +10 damage, or double damage, or maybe that's the same thing... actually I'm unclear on that point. :D

I think that's more or less accurate. :)

    thanks
the 5 speed bonus for 20 dex is very nice I think - I mean if a person has 18 anyway for some of the masteries - 2 more points for the 5 speed would be quite ok

Don't you read? That info is in the manual! In the early pages.

    Which manual ?

I tried it - the beauty bonus isn't + any reaction. In fact the way I saw it + 50 is the max possible reaction. The bonus should be something else.

    Oh
I lack such extras as I haven't actually bought what one would call " a legal copy of the game " .

While I applaud your honesty, I don't believe that such admissions will endear you terribly to the other members of the forum. Especially since The Powers That Be might have, oh, let's say, qualms about making your life as a pirate that much easier.

So far all of you have been pretty cool and have been really helping me a lot by answering whatever lame question would occur to my dumbfuck head. :) That's why I can't say that I need further endearment than that.

THere is a manual on line & downloadable somewhere. Others will know where or run a search on the Serria froum; http://community.sierra.com/WebX?14@@.ee6b4c8
Someone recently was directed to the on line manual from there, but the threads expire in two weeks after the last post, so it may be gone by now.

Isn't Bulgaria the # 2 piracy capital, right behind Hong Kong?

No, that's correct. When you reach 20 beauty then everyone starts out at +100 reaction to you. It can still change upon your actions and alignment though.

And the 20 perception is correct too. You can sense invisible monsters - not traps and such, which should be detectable long before you reach 20 PER. The invisible creatures appear as transparent monsters but you no longer have any penalties to hit them.

If you have the hellgate module then you can check this because the end village is full of invisible demons.

Which creatures in the main Arcanum module are invisible? I must admit, I've never even noticed. :(

I don't know of any, but, in some inns, if you confront someone in them, the other people in the inn will take a defensive status and some will use spells. I think Stillwater has someone in the pub there that uses an invisibility spell. I think one of the types of golden/ancient bears does also, or maybe they are just transparent on purpous...

Ancient Bear? I've never thought it'd exist! I mean, I've read in the Arcanum site about them... but never encountered one.

    How they're? Stats? Powers? :-o

I've encountered the Golden Bears between Shrouded Hills and Dernholm. The Ancient Bear sounds familiar, maybe the Ancient Maze. When you're in the forest sections. It's been so long since I cleared out the Ancient Maze I can't remember. Well, everything except that one sword in the small walled in section. Still can't figure a way in to get it.

Hmm... yes, the sword... Have you ever been in the Altar of Kerlin? There is also a square of wall blocking something inside it... I think there's 2000 coins. There must be a way to get those things...

It's impossible to get them by travelling the worldmap. I've used that technique (you start travelling and when you're walking over the area you hit the button to stop), used it to go to Tulla and worked but it was damn difficult. I've tried it in the Ancient Maze but there's no way.

Someone must know how to get that sword! What if it's another Bangellian Scourge!!? :(

The world map trick does indeed work on the Ancient Maze, it's just a major pain in the ass. IIRC, it's just an arcane sword, nothing to get excited about. Of course, I wasn't too impressed with the Bangellian Scourge either....

I don't remember any Ancient Bears in the Maze, but I have seen them in the western continent area north of Caladon, in some of those little locations like Strange Pond.
