HELP -- Game closes when I go above level 50

Ohhh, I'm gonna be pissed off if I can't get past this.

I've installed the patch, and the abovelevel 127 patch. Yet, when I hit enough XP to go above level 50, the game exits.

PLEASE tell me there's an easy way to fix this. I'm at the wastes, and close to the end!!

I'm assuming you're wanting a way to fix the problem without removing the Unofficial Powergaming Ultra-Cheat-O-Rama mod.

Do you have the version of the mod that matches your patched version of Arcanum? And do you also have the English version of Arcanum? I don't believe the mod works with other languages.... Are you running any other mods? I haven't heard anything specific about level remover conflicts, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some.

I'm using the English version, and have the patch to make it 1.0.7.4, which works with the 127 level cap. I read something about this on the Sierra website, but the explanations made no sense.

I'm supposed to install something into the root directory itself, but I can't figure out how to do that... and am NOT good at this stuff.

 

There's a level cap of 50???? NOOOOO!!! I'm almost there with my prime character and I still have much I want him to be able to do. I must find this level cap removing mod. It shall be mine! :boxing: :minigun: :rifle: :akimbo: :deadly: :smash: Nothing shall stand in my way!

Okay, open the mod in WinZip or whatever. Preferably after backing up the original, extract Arcanum.exe into C:\Sierra\Arcanum, or wherever you installed the game to. Now look for a C:\Sierra\Arcanum\data\rules directory. Not there? Create it. Put the .mes file in that directory. The zip file should already have these paths set, IIRC.

Does that help any?

 

Yay! What happens when you download the patch, for all of you that are going to, it extracts into a subfolder. Don't do this, change the path as above.

i didn't even know arcanum had a level cap :-o ...i finished arcanum at L40...

 

characters cap at level 50. if you have the patch, your followers will keep leveling up after youve hit the limit until they also reach 50.
