Same thing happens to me, Virgil doesn't change, but I like Virgil as he is

I believe that in the unpatched game, after T'sen-Ang, Vergil changes leveling schemes to one labeled "Zen Vergil".

 

That's nothing. I waited for the brigands in the cellar to kill Virgil.

And waited.

And waited.

HE KILLED THEM ALL. Since I'd given him Elite Platemail and a Pyro Axe (I know, I know, but it worked), he was able to readily fend off every single one of them.

So I talked to him. And he thanked me for bringing him back. From what, his daydreams of glory?

Hey! What's exactly Zen-Virgil? It's the good one or the evil one...? Or a thrid Virgil? Also, why is called like that, since Shadygrove's answer wasn't enough... :x

 

Vergil will do the leaving thing if you are good or not to evil. (He has left me at 30% or so evil.) He only changes schemes after leaving, so Zen Vergil must be the good one.

I went to the Caladon basement after Virgil left, but when I got there, only the 4 thugs were there, no Vigil, I'm playing CB's expansion, so did he do anything to that event?

 

This has happened to the unmoded as well. The silly fool has been known to get stuck in the trees at T'sen-Ang. Go back & look or go back to an earlier save.

 

Hmm. In my game I just got Virgil back and there is no Zen Virgil, just like there is no spoon. And he haven't taken skills from Necro Black. Yet, I hope.

Something more worthy to contribute: When I was playing as a dumb half-orge fighter, he got all of Joachim's hints and books and stuff but when I went to rescue Virgil Joachim didn't appear!!

 

But doesn't he leave you at the entrance to Quinterra? I checked the surrounding areas of both elven cities. But still no Virgil, darn, his CB form was a realiable fighter
