Problem with medical arachnid

I cant seem to get this medical arachnid to work, I throw it on the ground like a regular arachnid but it just sits there as if it is just a regular object on the ground (in its folded up position). Any help would be much appreciated

 

Umm....

This might seem a little stupid (and you've probably already done this), but when you say you throw it on the ground, are you using the hand in the inventory? Or are you throwing it from your hotkeys? Try the hand, it might work.

 

did you make the arachnid yourself from a schematic or was it given to you by someone. the ones you make yourself dont work unless you download a mod. the one that is given to you does work...

I fell for it too. Made one and it won't work.
Geuss I'll have to stack....one....more...mod...on.... *jinga*

 

I need a mod for it? Doh! Do you happen to know where I can get a mod that fixes that?? (or the name of the mod helps too)

I had the same problem with the given m. arachnid, it only worked from hotkeys and not always. Maybe it is the version problem lesser than 1074 or lack of throwing skill?

 

Lack of throwing skill. Some of my non throwing PCs have beaned party members with the thing, & still not had it deploy. The expert throwers never have it fail to open up.
