Has anyone tried this gun out and had any postive results? It's supposed to shoot acid bullets or something but it doesn't seem do any extra damage other than the crappy 1-15. It's also only 10 speed. I'm quite disappointed unless there is some trick to it (maybe having to carry corrosive acid around also). Funny, making the acid gun only seemed to make the repeater rifle crappier than it already was. And while I'm here....where can I find a Long Range Pistol or schematic? I've never seen it before and it's needed for the Pyro Gun. I'm hoping that gun is somewhat like the axe.
Acid gun isn't worth making, just like the high velocity pistol isn't (and rifled cannon as well if you ask me). Myabe they balanced them after the game was released, I don't know. I never downloaded any patches. Long range pistol schematics can be bought in a gunsmith shop, though it doesn't appear there often (I only saw it once). It has a range of 20 I think and does 10-30 damage (don't remember the speed but its slower then the elephant gun). Its made out of a looking glass rifle, so its definitely not worth it unless you desperately want to carry a shield. I've never made a pyro gun, but people say its not even close to the best guns of the game...
While we're on the subject does anyone find the Hushed Revolved useful? I certainly don't. I much perfer my trusty "Fine Revolver". (I don't much like two-handed guns, they just look ugly held by an Arcanum character...)
Hushed revolver is also useless, that's right. Actually, so is the hand cannon when I think about it. I'm really not impressed with 5-20 damage. If you're going to go through the whole game with only one handed firearms its going to be a problem. The most powerful one handed gun I ever used was the long range pistol, and its much weaker then LGR, let alone the more powerful weapons like a blade launcher or a Tesla gun.
Acid, Acid I've downloaded that Krupp's guy mod that balances most of the guns and I recommend you do it too. It's very well done. And makes some guns like the LR pistol, or the Hushed revolver at least worht try! And the Acid gun is good, only if the other guy isn't wearing an armor you like. You know, it does "Armor damaged" after the first shot. But surely the PyroGun does too.
I realise it says otherwise in the Terra Arcanum Itembank, but the hand cannon does 5-35 damage, not 5-20. It's also got a speed of 13, not 8. I don't see how that beats the long range pistol, which (I think) does 10-30 damage at a speed of 5. The hushed revolver is good if you want to kill something without making a bloody racket and alerting the whole mob. (Don't really use it much myself, but it has a use.) I love one-handed firearms, and never really had much of a problem going through the game with them. Okay, so I also carry a mechanized gun for when I have to clear out a room packed with seething masses or something, but otherwise I honestly don't have a need for heavier weapons with an insatiable appetite for ammo.
The Acid Gun just sucks. The Pyro gun only kinda sucks & wouldn't if it was cheaper to build. THe schematic for the Long Range Pistol is for sale when you first enter Ashbury & random after that. The Hushed Relvolver is useful for drawing one monster at a time from a pack. Only the one hit will come at you. Usless once you have prowl Master. The Charged Acclerator Gun is a good compromise in dammage, speed & appitite. The Tesla Gun Rules. 1/2 Ogres CAN handle 2 hand guns, BTW.
do you mean that they can carry 2 hand guns or that they can use guns that require 2 hands? i was under the impression that they cannot use guns at all because their hands are too big
They can use guns that require 2 hands. LGR, Tesla Gun, Charged Accelerator Guns, & etc. No pistols. In a book in the library, The Hunters Hunted, it describes a 1/2 Ogre with a Mechanized Gun. Frightening & expensive.
Not if that Ogre is inside a game that has dowloaded the gun PATCH! :x You don't listen. The Mechanized gun consumes 2 bullets each shot and the repeater rifle just 1!
And it also ups my beloved Hand Cannon to two bullets per shot. The travesty! It's amazing how fast you can uninstall something in the midst of blind fury.
Hey, since this thread is about guns and scematics and stuff, does anyone know where I can get the schematic for the levered mechanized gun or whatever it is?
I don't know that one. Are you modded? Or is that one of those items that you can find in effects.mes (or whatever it is) but never in the game?
I think he means the levered machine gun. I've seen it in the items slide show. I tihnk it can be found somewhere in Vendigroth
