I haven't played (or been here) for a long long time. Since last I played I added RAM (up to 256) and got a larger monitor. Now I can see and I don't have the slowdowns in towns. It's like a whole new game. And I guess I learned some new tricks from playing other games because I'm an archer now and it's a killer character (literally as well as figuratively). This is the first game that I've been able to make an archer work right. - Edythe
Viedeo RAM is the key to avoiding the lag bug. Archers do a LOT more dammage than gunslingers, don't they.
Archers sure do do a lot of dammage. With the right bow I swear I can level up every 10 minutes if I run into the right group, and sneak up on them so I can pick off one at a time. I think I go through with just the dog if I wanted to. - Edythe
last time i played arcanum was with a celeron300 with 64mb ram it took me 2 days just to travel across vendigroth  today i'm going to buy a new computer and restart the game
I am starting a new game. I am an evil half orc gunfighter! I killed virgil the moment I saw him and I am traveling solo!
when I started, I had a 300mhz AMD K6-2 and 128 MB RAM..... you know the location in vendihgroth where all teh spiders come up from the ground where they are digged in at once.... boy, this lagged... it took me quarter a hour until I reached the fucking door going down to the dungeon... Now I have a 1.3Ghz and 384 MB RAM
Ha, got you all beat. AMD 2.1, 1/2 gig memory, ATI All-In-Wonder with 128 meg viedo RAM. But then there is the other system. AMD 1.2, 3/8 gig, but a 4X AGP on board video chip with only 8 meg video memory & no way to allocate more. There are streets in Tarant I just don't walk down on that one.
HA!you haven't seen my video card... S3 trio 3D with 4 mb (yes,4) ram  ...i have just bought a new computer now i only have to wait they assemble it
