I want to be in the Underground too! I killed Lukan in Shrouded Hills (I wanted my 50 coins from the constable... greed) but in Tarant I accepted the quest to steal the Elven tombstone. After I got it and completed the quest I talked with some bum standing outside the house. He told me to go see the crook Thaddeus Mynor, so I did so. Thaddeus told me about the underground and I stole the sewer map to get in. He told me where to find the fence, so I can sell all the stuff I had stolen (because I'm so fiendish). I went into the place and found Mr. Black and the short (halfling?) shopkeeper. I tried to sell the flawless dwarven rubies I picked up from the barrel down at the docks and the Essence of Will-o-Wisps I lifted from H.T. Parnell and the shopkeeper won't buy it (when you roll over it in the buy/sell menu it comes up with the usuall comments [What do I look like? A fence?] or [That is obviously stolen.] et cetera.) I tried to talk to Mr. Black but when I use the 'I have some business to discuss' type speech option and he says 'What is it?' my only option is 'Nevermind.' According to the quests, these are valid items to steal and sell to Mr. Black and his associate, yet I cannot sell them! Any clues? I'm sitting around Tarant with a warehouse full of stolen crap I can't get rid of :sad:
If you're going to sell stuff, it's a good idea to dump some points in to Haggle, as well as getting Expert training in that field. Once you're an Expert, you'll find you can sell most anything you have at every shop. As for the Underground, I have no idea. I haven't been a thief yet.
You got the jobs from your contact at the train station? If not, you probably won't have the chance to sell them...since they aren't in the market for anything unless they tell you that they want it. This is, of course, if you aren't freelancing.
train station huh? Didn't know I was supposed to meet somebody in the train station. Only been there once and while I was there somebody pick pocketed me... let's just say I wasn't too kind to them.
