Maybe you should actually learn a language well enough to cohesively type a paragraph of it without coming off as a grammatical nightmare before you judge a language. Just my opinion, however.

    Thanks, Milo!

Same with my nieces. My mom and dad basically raised them: just to have them taken away from them when they grew up. Not quite the same, I guess.

Most of you seem to have come from seriously deranged families.
My own family, though I detest, loathe, hate, despise, and abhor them, stuck together like glue. I mean, yes, I hate them, but their family, you know? We all hate each other; we're family.
I don't know. I grew up in an Irish Catholic Italian Roman Catholic household, both cultures being known for their family/clan unity.

No offence, but it sounds like a pretty hard family!

You mean you never visit your parents?

Then Sereina, could you tell me the two different words for my grandfather on my mom's side and my grandfather on my dad's side?

Paternal grandpa/grandma refers to your father's parents, maternal grandpa/grandma refers to your mother's grandparents, Gwindor.
And yes, nbrosz, I have a really hard family... very, very hard, very tough, very strong, and very proud.

Heh, never ever heard anyone said that... I even asked our english teacher, but she don't know shit about english anyway... well, 90% of our class want her fired... She said there is not such word.

But hey, swedish is much better then... We simply got 4 words... "farfar" and "morfar" which means grandpa on the fathers side and on the mothers side... Much better :D

That is nice, but Swedish is neither as elegant, nor as eloquent, as English.
The only language I love as much as English is Italian, and even Italian doesn't come close to what I find with English.
English is so expressive, so beautiful; it's the best language to write poetry in, the best to write anything in. You can express ideas and feelings with words and tones and inflections that could never possibly be expressed in any other language. I imagine it's because the people who speak English, who started to speak it, were rather, 'free thinkers," and fierce individualists.

The date function is here for a reason...

Okay, but only at your request.

Continued From Topic: Not sure what that reason is, but I'm sure there is one.
