From reading the game files, you can meet and join up with Franklin Payne. Has anyone met him? If so where is he hiding?
hehe I wonder if Franklin can cast spells from the Temporal school innately. I bet he dives around while shooting alot, too.. Hehe.
Ooer...stonecourier, I thought you got your game knowledge from playing...heh. Franklin can be found in black root during the 'looking for a boat to thanatos' period. Big ol' empty house.
Payne in the ass... Yep, I didn't have him join me as he's an annoying, pompous, windbag. His stories are all a bit inflated and he brags too much. I think he buys his trophies from some other hunter and then tells people he hunted them down himself.
WEeeelll....on the other hand, when I was looking for a certain device, he was all 'I can't say as I've ever even heard of the Vendigroth ruins, but the Vendigroth Wastes...now there's a place where any self-respecting adventurer would feel right at home! If the scorching sun doesn't get you, the myriad man-eating beasts will! I can't think of a better time!' Then, at the Wheel Clan... 'Oh! This is the Wheel Clan! Wonderful place, although dwarves being dwarves they don't usually let people like me run around their caverns! Rumor has it that there's an old abandoned mine around here that's just full to the brim with ferocious beasts! Let's have at it then!' Nope, not a hint of cowardice there...he was absolutely thrilled near the end, too. You'd think a person would protest at being possibly stranded in the void, heh. I'd say the man is as insanely heroic as he says he is.
Well, 90% of it I got from playing the game, or reading and compiling bits from the spoiler boards. Franklin Payne appears in the follower level up schemes in the game, so I knew he was around somewhere (people has also talked about him). He is now up in the follower section. Reading the game files is quite interesting (using undat and World ed you can see all the towns - haven't managed to find the fan grave yard yet).
