There are gypsies in every town. They can identify items for 100 gold per item. There's also a spell which will do it, however it's a level 5 spell and costs 50 fatigue. Supposedly, there are NPCs you can get who do it as well, but I haven't seen any that do.
Rechargeable ident items would rock. Sigh... Eg: Tech: 'Magick Analyser'...think EK meter from ghostbusters, with internal database. Uses charges. Magic: 'Generic Staff of Knowledge'...a staff that gives bonuses to INT, WP and allows ident twice a day.
I've got to say I like how hard it is to identify items in Arcanum. It means you don't get the instant use of anything magical without risking a curse. ID item ala BG is pathetic, things might as well come with a full description... ~Aldin

Where's all the other ones? I found one in ashbury, (way south), and the one in tarant (way east), but other than the one in shrouded hills, I haven't seen any more... Is there only those 3?
