Richest gnome in Arcanum...

Have any of you guys seen the bug with the gnome in Tarant that owes MAdam LIl the money? He tells me to wait 5 days until he can pay, so I wait. Then I say "i've come for the coin." Then he gives me 400 gold. Then I can talk to him again and again to get my 400 gold...
As soon as you give Madam Lil the money he'll just talk about his little playing around with that Willow girl...

Well, I got this before I patched, but is this fixed in 1074?

 

Yes, Patch 1.0.7.4 fixed this bug.

On the other hand it also fixed riddle bets bug while we're at money subject.

You mean those questions people at inn's and bars can ask you, betting 500 gold?

 

Yes, before the patch they bet 500 and when you didn't answer correctly you lost 500 however when you answered correctly you only gained 20 gold.

You'll need a book later on and in order to get it you'll need to join. Of course you can simply steal the book of the librarian or kill her.

Aha... OK, well, I wouldn't pay 1,5k to read some damn books, only if I saved before, read them for fun and then loaded...

 

This wouldn't work here as you need info from this book to move on the main plot. Also it's not a Curse of Tsen Ang but a book which tells a story about that book. Anyway if you don't want to pay you can always accidentally drop baneful gauntlets next to librarian.

Baneful gauntles inflict poison damage and reduce poison resistance to 0. And you don't "get credit" for that casualty - it's them who put unidentified items on.

 

WEll I figured it would be something like that... Eheh...

Anyways... Does anyone know of another good place to do this? where they sell reeeeally expensive and good items...

The best place I've found for now is the mage shop in Tarant... There's a hound guarding the first one, but the other one is eeeasy to pick... It isn't too fun to buy resurrection scrolls for 8k ya know :cry:

 

wise women are a great source of income with this method. just go to the barter interface, exit it, sleep for a day a few screens away and repeat. you can get 100k easily from this. you can also ressurrect her and repeat as much as you want. it makes getting arcane stuff so much easier
