    My fav movies?

    1) The first Star Wars Trilogy (yup they all rate the same)
    2) Blade Runner
    3) Night of the living Dead (god I love to hate this movie!)
    4) X-men
    5) The Mummy

    Honorable mentions:

    Resident Evil rocked!!

I also liked Scorpian King much better then I thought I would.... I like Tom Cruise movies on a whole he rarely puts out a sleeper (the D&D movie he made years ago with Tim Curry is still the best in my book) I loved Dark Crystal, Wizard of Oz, The Princess Bride, and there was one that starred David Bowe as an Elf King that was also very cool, I can always watch a good King Arthur / Merlin movie :)

FOE: I like alot of those movies too. Just saw the Princess Bride a little while ago. Made me roll with laughter!
I like the Trilogy of Star Wars, but like the new ones with the computer special effects a little better...

SB: Blade 2? Isn't that kinda old?

That was Labyrinth, and I'm pretty sure Tom Cruise wasn't in it.

The Tim Curry movie (Legend) is shown about once a week on the Sci Fi Channel.

Why didn't you mention Minority Report? That was a great movie - especially all the creepy old people![/i]

No Tom wasn't in The Labyrinth but the movie still ROCKED! thanks for remembering the name for me.

And YES Legends!!!! was a legendary one and Tom and Tim were both in that one again my thanks for remembering the name :D

I didn't see Minority report :( I know I suck as a fan for missing it cause i love both him and Speilberg :( But as soon as i can I intend to get the DVD.

Here is a test for you. There is another old D&D film that I loved but I can not remember the name too. It stared a small person who was charged with protecting a baby from an evil goblin queen. He was given 5 magic acorns to help and turned out to be something of a mage. He meets up with a warrior who helps him. And near the end the goblin queen starts turning everyone into pigs! Man it was great :) I am fairly sure the movie was named after the leading charecter....

Damn, he beat me to it.

I have that one on DVD. I watched it again recently and realized that I actually hate most of the characters...
And yet, it is still an entertaining movie. Go figure.

Yup that's it! I loved that movie!

Hey what do you guys think of starting a "name that movie" thread? where you can only use one or two sentences to discribe a movie that everyone else needs to guess? The person that guesses correctly would then get to discribe a movie for others to guess? I can open any more threads but if ya'll like the idea maybe one of you could

Willow is pretty good - especially Joanne Whalley!

I actually saw Warwick Davis (the diminutive star of Willow) a couple of months ago when I was on holiday in Norfolk. He was just walking along the seafront with his family, and if you think he's small, you should see his kid!

Anyway, my favourite films (in no particular order) :

    Some Like it Hot
    Back to the Future
    On the Town
    The Magnificent Seven
    The Producers

I watched Bad Taste again last night. Man, that is still one awesome movie! If you're a fan of the splatter/comedy genre (which I am), this movie can't be beaten. It's about a group called the Astral Investigation and Defense Service (which, of course, makes for a nice acronym) that goes head to head against a group of aliens! The plot is really thin, but the movie is extremely enjoyable. The bastards have landed! This movie was Peter Jackson's first full-feature length film. His later work includes The Lord of the Rings, The Frighteners and the ever-popular Braindead (Dead Alive).

I just finished watching Stephen Kings Rose Red, a two disc, six hour extravaganza from the folks at abc. I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to all. I give it three stars ***

I like your taste in movies, Windmills. I really liked Pi and Memento. It's movies like those where the idea behind them is so neat that I overlook any shortcomings. Well, with Pi moreso than Memento... Memento was more of a "twist" movie that was told in a pretty unique way.

    Onwards!

I finally got to see The Time Machine. I have to say I agree with Sheriff Fatman about this movie; there's just something about it that I liked. I can't explain it. There were a lot of things wrong with it, so much so that even a pretty uncritical moviegoer like me groaned. The pacing was all fucked up. The acting was pretty bad. It was just... ugh. But, after all was said and done, I enjoyed it. Don't know why.

Well, tit for tat, and making three in a row for Mr Pearce, I saw The Count of Monte Cristo and agree with Darkwalker, it was pretty good.

I see Hel Khat finally managed to get himself banned again.

Darkwalker, please don't imitate DU. It's bad enough having two people who talk like that*.

As for movies, has anyone else hear seen Harold and Maude?

*Yes, yes, DU doesn't really talk like that either, but you know what I meant.[/i]

I'm not imitating, this is how one must speak when dealing with slug bug. We wouldn't want to confuse him with english, right?
