I was wondering about which items can be given to followers to improve their reactions, so I searched the forums and came up with this: Franklin Payne - Earl Grey Tea Gar - Earl Grey Tea Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe - Chateau de Be´ron Brandy Jayna Styles - Sweet Cakes Loghaire Thunderstone - Dwarven Snuff Magnus Shale Fist - Dwarven Snuff Perriman Smythe - Earl Grey Tea Raven - Elven Spring Water Sebastian - Bottle of Wine Sogg Mead Mugg - Bottle of Wine Tollo Underhill - Absinthe Virgil - Talk to him Vollinger - Absinthe Zan Alu´rin - Elven Spring Water Question is, where do you get the Brandy for Geoffry? -Poiuyt Man
What about the undead/skeleton fellow? my player is somewhat evil, i got him and Virgil, is there anybody else out there who would join me?
Torian Kel is an interesting follower, and he adds a bit to the story. Let's see... other evil and neutral followers: Dog (behind Ashbury Inn, being kicked) Vollinger (Dernholm bar) - he's tech though Z'an Alu'rin (T'sen Ang, late game) Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe (Ashbury graveyard) Tollo Underhill (Dernholm, very late game) Waroman (Bedokaan Village, must solve poacher problem without killing) Sebastian (Talk to Edward Willoughsby after visiting T'sen Ang) You can also get any follower to join you (regardless of alignment) if you become a Persuasion Master. Charisma of 20 will prevent followers from leaving due to low reaction. -Poiuyt Man
thank you, think i need to get my charisma up. Yea, he is cool. was afraid he would leave me when i visited Krell, when he found his home and everything.
Might I ask, what should I talk about with Virgil, since I can only ask him what we should do and what he knows about the town's we're visiting...
There are places & times when you can get a 'can I ask you a question' type line in the dialog. Folow it. That line, BTW, is how you make it with Raven.
(I'm not usually one to dig up old threads, but I have to ask....) Exactly what places and times are you speaking of? I spoke with Virgil on something bordering obsessive regularity in my game (surprised he didn't eventually tell me to shut up) and I never noticed any new sort of dialogue option. When and where should I talk to him to trigger this? The only way I found to improve Virgil's reaction was to make myself more beautiful, which was just a little too creepy for my male character. He didn't even bother to thank me and improve his reaction when I resurrected him, like Doggie did. Ungrateful twit.
How exactly do you give the gofts to your followers? Just put them in their inventory or use on them?
If their reaction becomes low enough, there is an option in the dialogue list when you talk to them to "make up your actions". If you click on, for example, "give Magnus dwarven snuff", the snuff is used and Magnus's reaction increases about 20 pts. Also, how in hell does one piss Sogg Mead Mugg off?! You can do anything in front of him and his reaction doesn't change...
Try hitting him more often during combat. I especially recommend using grenades in combat as close to your group as possible  Shooting through a crowd of your followers works pretty good as well- I've almost killed Sogg a couple of times with my favourite blade launcher and let's say he wasn't very pleased.
I didn't get it; please, how do you give them the gifts? Explain clearer, if you can. EDIT - nevermind, I just figured out how to do it.
When a follower's reaction is between 20 & I'm gone, you can find a 'what's wrong?' option under the 'ask a question' line or just there among all the other first choices. Use it & the follower will tell you what he needs. I will sometimes juggle jewlery & clothing to get a low reaction & bring it up. (Any barbarian armor lowers reaction 5 points.)
So just to clarify.... Will you get those dialogue options with Virgil only when he's royally pissed off at you, or will you get them at certain places and/or times regardless of his reaction, and if it's the latter what are those places and/or times?
You missed one. I was looking through dialog, looked at the dialog file '01842SurlyVirgil' and picked this up: Evil or Surly Virgil - Absinthe Just a tip!
