I'm all for newbies and their questions! Everyone was one once.

Kind of a broad question, but, put simply -

A high AC/low DR combo means less attacks will hit you, but the ones that do will do a fair bit of damage.

High DR/low AC will be the reverse - you'll be hit more often, but built like a tank, so it won't damage you as much.

It really depends on how you're going to play.

No problem - it's a pain to have just a quick question, then either waiting for ages and/or being branded a newbie. Enjoy.

IMHO, the best armor is the stuff you pick up for free in the dungones. I must have Gnomish blood, as I hate to pay for armor or weapons. Arcane stuff at the wise women is an ecption.

If you hover your cursor over the little shield on the equiped screen, you can see the breakdown on your total defence.

Don't always take the higher 'overall number' as better, though - it depends on how you're playing.

well, i found a nice armour in the maze, its very white and shiny, i think ill stick to that one. didnt like using my only dynamite to blow those golems up. but the armour is so fine, exept for the pigface look. I also stole the sword of baltar, is there swords that are much better than that one??

Is that Arcane Platemail you found? The Sword of Baltar is one of the best; the Arcane weapons are quite good too, they do high damage if you are magical, and never lose durability from hitting Ore Golems/Metal Doors/etc. If you are evil, the Bangellian Scourge is great - it lowers your alignment significantly, lowers your reaction from others by 15, but does great damage and curses your enemies with damaging spells. The sword found on one of the Isle of Despair's pit fighters is also good for most battles - 10-15 damage and very fast speed.

Yes it is the arcane platemail. hate to see when it gets damaged :( also found this skeletonhead arcane shield, but is mainly against fire, so i use the shield of power instead, got it as a backup if i was to meet som hot fire enemies.

Like the Baltar, but it would bee cool to see the pitfighter sword, but its to late, one of my followers could have used it. ill give them sword of air instead, i think their good.
