The Mystic Axe isn't damaged by them. I can pound on those bastards all day long with one, no damage incurred.

I thought about using corrosive acid on 'em but at the time ended up throwing it on myself, but maybe it works on them.

    Ore golems

Well, ranged weapons bypass the whole weapon damage problem.

My character (Persephone, gunslinging tinker) just swallowed a Fortifier (+30% Damage Resistance), slapped on her Chapeau of Magnetic Inversion, and kept chewing on healing salves as she whittled the golem down with her Revolver. This IS a bit hard on her armour as the golem pounds away I'll admit, but it works!

More often than not she lets her friends bang away as well, the damage to their weapons is minor and easily repaired back in town.

What is the minimum requirement to use the Mystic Axe?

    Weapons?!??

I don't use weapons, I use spells.

disintegrate works great against anything I don't want to touch. ie. those flaming golem guys

Ey, keep in mind that this is the BMC part of the game...

You having disintegrate shows that you've probably gone and levelled up enough that ANY other character variant, much less your mage, can take that dungeon without any problems. Unless you've gone and spend everything in willpower and the Force school...which makes your other abilities very, very inadequate.

And besides...disintegrate? Bah. Sucking down those fatigue potions, are we?

Boomarangs don't seem to be damaged by knocking down doors and breaking crates. They might work on Ore Golems also.

    ore golums

All I know about the buggers is I was happily marching through the black iron mountain place with my lv 13 Marksman Dwarf slaughtering kite people and random wolves, when I saw the dreaded iron golum.. It proceeded to march up, and WHACK me and Virgil.. THis happened repeatedly, with slightly differant tactics tried, none worked.. ANy suggestions?

    actually...

Actually I'm a cheapass and incredibly frugal when I play this game. I cast the spell as many times as I can without collapsing on the ground unconcious, then I run away and let my Fatigue meter fill up again. If I can, I leave the dungeon completely and rest 1 hour, then come back. hehe

When I first played the golem just blew me to pieces with one punch so I know how you feel. you can try shooting him with guns while running away 150+ bullets you can try bows. you can also make 15 moltov coctails and smoke him. there is also the dynamite trick to use it and let him walk on it to injure him greatly but it needs perfect timing. you can try a bear trap if you have it in combo with the dynamite. Tell your friend to wait somewhere while doing it. There are lots more golems in the game and the best weapon is the pyrotechnic axe. works like a dream.

Easy for magical apt character out there!!!

Just summon one ogre guardian out and run back as u see the golem running towards you without initiating turn- based battle and let ur ogre beat it until it dies!!!
In fact, any enemies cannot even beat my 2 ogres guardians and this use less fatigue points than disintegrate spell, right?

You can beat on the Iron Golums with your fists. You'll do damage to yourself, but at least you can heal yourself

I dunno if this is a bug, but the shocking staff (elec. schematic) tends to kill golems in a single hit. Just tap 'em on the forehead once and back off.

After being hit once, the target will continuously take heavy electrical damage, even though it's no longer being actively attacked with the staff. So, you attack him once and he keels over dead a couple seconds later.

This method of attack chews through batteries very quickly, so make sure you have a lot. And I don't think it works in turn based, so go with real time.

I don't know if its related to weapon durability, character strength, or what, but i have Sog equiped with an arcane great sword (he had about 20-21 str at this point) and was suffering no weapon damage. I've heard (though have yet to confirm) that Virgil's starting staff takes no damage also

Or you could get WOrthless Mutt from Ashbury and run away from the ore golem- that dog'll just keep biting it until it dies, and if you're running away the ore golem will never attack. Nifty, huh? Plus, he only loses some health when he attacks it, so you can just run outside and rest, instead of repairing all the weapons.
