A shot of the device working and eliminating my opponent forever. A shot of the portal device firing up and creating a circle... Then a slideshow of what happened to various people and locations around Arcanum? Am I missing a cutscene or three here? I also seem to be missing cutscenes for travelling by ship and train... They get me to my destination instantly or in one hour! Has someone compiled a list of possible bugs and perhaps even fixes for this game somewhere? I might as well chuck complaints in here. I was considering making another topic, but that would be an annoying topic to read, then. Clicking to ranged attack on a thing that's out of sight and having my character use all his movement to run next to it. Arrgh. For party members too. learning from Virgil, Raven uses all her fatigue and movement to fail to heal me and Magnus ('cause we're too tech) then, despite the fact that her bow-work kills everything, she spends her last little bit of effort to turn into a useless, lumbering ball of Jell-o!!
The patch helps a lot of things, but not the magic combat AI. BTW, the mele AI rocks. I have seen Sebastian throw a grenade, shoot a gun, & change to a mele weapon in one combat. Z'uran(SP?), the dark Elf mage, at least changes into rocks.
I’m not sure you mean by „shot. If they’re static something is wrong. There should be two animaitons. One of Vendigroth Device unfolding and piercing its target, the other one of the teleport activating. Rest are static pics with narration. There are no cutscenes for traveling by ship and train afaik. At least I never got them. Ranged combar: press SHIFT and you won’t move while attacking. Hotkeys are listed near the end of manual. If you’re tech kick out Virgil. He’s too weak and since you’re tech useless as healer. Get Jayna Styles from Dernholm – she’s a tech healer.
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I am patched up. I read somewhere that there might be cutscenes. It shouldn't be instant, at any rate. I think it should show your cross move quickly across the map. I also heard someone complaining about not being allowed to take the dog on the train, saying that the person in front of them had a winged demon that was allowed on, which they could have seen in a cutscene, 'cause I never saw it. By shot I meant animation. I guess that bit's working then, it just seems a little abrupt. I'd like to have one last conversation with the elven councillors. I guess this isn't the games strong point. I remember laughing at the recollection of Arronax's exploits animation, because for dramatic effect it was using that three or four bars of music that i'd heard eight quabillion times every time I entered combat! If I keep my party alive, does it tell me what happens to them? Yeah, I should get in the habit of pressing shift every time I attack, but I like one hand free to pick my nose. I didn't bother chasing Virgil down after he left me. I had a full party with Raven, anyway, and as I mentioned in 'Ahoy!' I wasn't playing mister 'Oh, I give a damn!'
Keeping the party alive doesn't have an effect on the ending. I basically beat the tar out of the guy myself (while using a Shield of Protection) and everyone survived fine, but nothing in the ending mentioned them.
It never bothered me and a travel shown on the map just for the sake of it (there are no random encounters during train travel) would get annoying fairly soon. [quote[I also heard someone complaining about not being allowed to take the dog on the train, saying that the person in front of them had a winged demon that was allowed on, which they could have seen in a cutscene, 'cause I never saw it.[/quote] The only winged demon in a cutscene appears when you kill Kerghan with that magick sword instead of Vendigroth Device. Nope, it only says about locations. Then press shift with your elbow - you can still pick your nose that way
There are only 8 cutscenes: Zephlin Crash Radcliffe Gun vs Sword (the movie when Arcanum starts up) Arronax Kerghan Vendigroth Device Void Sword Dwarven Portal
The Void Sword. Go to the platform that leads to Kerghan's castle, and then go to the teleporter that takes you to where the Bane of Kree, and Kraka-Tur, and all those others are. You will find a little stairway on the cliffside on one of those platforms that leads to a cave that houses Friggards Falchion (If that is how you spell it).
Actually, certain party members (Magnus & Loghaire come to mind) will be mentioned in the end cutscenes if you keep them alive -- they don't necessarily have to still be in your party, but they have to be alive. -Poiuyt Man
If you take Arronax, and keep him alive, he resurrects Vendigroth and buries Nasrudin on Thanatos. And I resent that Virgil comment. I nearly always keep him - he adds heaps to the story. Then again, in the game where I didn't have him, I had Magnus, Franklin and Sebastian, all loaded with techie goodness ( Pyro Axe, Tesla Gun, Grenade Launcher, and me with a Flamethrower) 8) :minigun: .
I didn't get this cutscene Do you need certain followers in your party for it to appear. As for Loghaire being mentioned in the ending - he's always mentioned with regard to dwarves no matter if you take him or not. As for Arronax it is enough not to kill him/get him killed and there'll be resurrected Vendigroth scene. You don't even have to talk with him.
I believe nbrosz is referring to the the cutscene where you kill the end boss with the Void Sword -- it's slightly less spectacular than killing him with the Vendigroth device. -Poiuyt Man
By the void sword he means Kreggilans blade, myou find it in a cave in the void off one of the platforms, it is imho the most powerful weapon in the game and it can kill kerghan when he is in his shell.
Oh I got that one. I thought he meant some cuscene when you aquire this sword. Etalis, Void sword is located on the next platform after the one on which Gorgoth resides. There is a cavern on it's southern part. If you use ring of teleporters then go through the second one to the right from the one on top of the circle.
