I am kind of new to PC gaming but so far I absolutely have loved playing Diablo, Max Payne etc... I just bought Arcanum the other day and I have enjoyed the game except for the choppiness that is going on in the towns. I am experiencing extreme chopiness in the game now, which takes away from the enjoyment of playing. I am running a 500 mhz (AMD), voodoo 2500 video card and 256 of ram. I have ample hard drive space and no other applications are running in the background. So what's up, is there anything that I can do to run at a decent speed? Is there a patch coming out soon to resolve this problem? Please let me know with a reply.

If you add -heapsize x (where x is 2/3 of your total memory(in kb)) to the command line. this will increase performance untill windows eats it all up again.

This handy little command allocates memoory to the program that has it in its command line.

You will however encounter slow ups after playing for awhile, and i believe this is caused by Microsofts incompetence. Be it Windows or Arcanum (or Fallout:Tactics) you will not be able to retrieve your memory used from an application (flushing problems i think, and i have no clue as of how to remedy this) or a segment of memory.

Meaning that Windows will revert to Virtual memory SIGNIFICANTLY slowing down your machine. When this happens save, reset and start from your last point.

I encounter Sparatic freezing that encounters when i move the view with my mouse and click at the same time. I will return to the game after about 30 seconds of static pitcure.

    Some Solutions:

Get some more memory (128 mb PC-133 is about 25 dollars)

Use the arrow keys to navigate the world.
