When you have more people in a group, does each person get less xp? Example1... 2 person group, 1 kill=100 xp, 50 xp for virgil, 50 for me? Example1.5...4 person group, 1 kill+100 xp, 25 for each??? Example2 2-8 person group, 1 kill +100 xp, 100 for each??? So which one is it, example one or two??
Well, no. Neither one. It works like this. There is EX points for doing dammage. Wacking with pointy things, casting harm or fireflash. Whoever does the dammage gets those points. Not divided at all. Then there is EX points for the kill. When a monster (Or innocent bystander) is killed by you or any party member, or even a stray shot from a kite bowman, YOU get the credit. Only you. So, if you are a big strong fighter that stays in front of the party & deals the most dammage, you go up a lot faster than is you are a weakling who is a demon lockpick, but hides from combat letting Chukka, Sog, & Dog do the killing. Hope that helps. But it is no trick to get to 50 in this game unless you play a pacifist.
If you want all the experience for your self, just hit F5, your followers will back off, so you can do all the damage, works pretty good for me.
K Thanks, but now I have a new question!! If I use Bows and Arrows, will the arrows count as "Hit Experience"? Because they arnt acctually melee hits....
Molotov Coctails & many other explosives are the only exceptions. Bullets, arrows, & boomerangs all work.
I get EXP from Molotovs, I get a lot of EXP from Molotovs as I use them by the bucket load to push the critters back from me.
:minigun: I consider myself almost moronic.. Yet this question makes me wonder... Am i a friggin' genius....?
I don't think this was correcty said, if you level up so do all your followers, but your followers can't gain xp or level up on their own. If you have the patch and are level 50, your followers level up by you getting enough xp.
I think they do gain XP by hitting, it just doesn't do them much good. Explosions don't seem to count as comming from you. 'It was that evil time bomb, not me.' So use stun grenades, then beat them to death.
If the grenades work like molotovs, yes. There is a simple test. In TBC mode, throw the grenades & look at the EX bar. Does it go up?
I'm pretty sure that Disintegrate only gives kill experience, not damage experience. It can be inferred that Quench Life probably works in the same way, and maybe explosives do too. So here's a more refined test. Toss a Molotov at some Vorpal Bunnies (or whatever) and see if you get any experience, then toss one at some sewer rats (or whatever) and see if you get any experience. Assuming that the Vorpal Bunnies (or whatever) weren't killed and the sewer rats (or whatever) were, you can figure out whether you get no experience, just kill experience, or both kill and damage experience.
