I don't know actual salesfigures etc but it got rpg of the year and other awards from multiple gaming sites/mags so it had hit somewhat big

Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 type games are on a whole other level than the rest of the pack. The Sims, too for that matter.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Arcanum has sold somewhere around 100,000 copies, maybe less. The only thing I could find on Google was this old article dated Aug 2001 that states Arcanum has sold just under 70,000 copies to date.

Gee, I hope it's enough for a sequel. It's not going well with Vivendi, the owner of Sierra, so I hope Troika will survive.

From what I understand you have to sell at least 140,000 before most will even consider a sequel :eek:uch:

I heard some companies want you to sell at least 250,000

Yeah. Besides, Troika's already moved on to another project, I think. Lionheart, I think.

What? Reflexive is making Lionheart, with Black Isle assisting or something like that. BIS is going to publish.

But yes, Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 are a whole other level. Selling a million copies in a week is no mean achievement. GTA3 sold something like $350 million worth of copies between the PS2 and PC worldwide, which is pretty damn fucking good. EB also estimates that 4 million pre-orders have been placed for GTA: Vice City. Yes, 4 million.

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG

You can't make expansions for a Playstation or any other console game because you don't install anything.

It's a whole new game. It takes place in a copy of Miami in the 80s.

At least Etalis knows his gaming news :).

Vivendi is a pretty massive company - owns Universal Studios (you know, the movie company) as well as several of the well known and more successful game studios and publishers - Sierra and Blizzard are just a couple of their companies. I don't know any more, but I do know they have them.

Oops  , I thought it was the multiplayer add-on for GTA3 PC version (saw it in a dutch magazine), But offcourse It's a playstion game so ít can't be add-on. Thanks for setting this right, Craftlord.

Stupid of me, I'm just not a console gamer.
