I can't understand what kinda game it is... It says RTS. Real Time Strategy game. So that would make it like age of empires, right? Well, in the review, it said, "You also have the option to play against the computer." But it was talking mostly about the single-player campaign. So, is this game just a RTS single player campaign? Or is it more like Age of Empires? Someone please explain, cause this game looks pretty cool, but I don't want another AoE. Bored stiff with RTS war-gaming.

    *retard is confused.

I haven't played it, so take the rubbish I'm about to spout with a pinch of salt.

I think it is similar to AoE in that you drop buildings to determine what units you have at your disposal, but I'd imagine there are differences on the type and amount of resource management.

It's sorta similiar. That's it. I didn't like AoE2 (the only other RTS I've played besides Warcraft III). It was too much pumping out units and throwing them at the enemy with too little control. The whole thing was too fast and unmanageable for me.

Warcraft has more of a storyline going for it, at least as far as I've seen. I haven't gotten very far yet. The "armies" are smaller, and there are some role-playing aspects to it. Your hero character gains experience and levels as the game progresses.

Its a good game. With rts and rpg aspects put into it. And then when you get on battle.net and play custom games, there are a lot of cool ones. I'd definately go with it. The storyline is awsome too.

So.....from what you're saying, the main focus in Warcraft III isn't this:

Create villager, create villager, build barracks, create villager, build house, create swordsmen, create villager, farm, build various and sundry buildings, wage war with opponent, try to wipe them out, fail in complete humiliation and in utter despair.. This is what AoE was. So what you guys are saying is that Warcraft is a RTS in which you do some fighting and building and stuff, but there is a story background to it?

In AoE, playing the different campaigns were exciting at first, until I realized that pretty soon, every single mission in the campaign, sooner or later, had you doing what I wrote above. How is Warcraft different? Spoil me, if neccessary.

Okay, the four campaigns have you playing as each of the four races. There's a storyline, and it's enough to motivate you to keep playing. The cinematics also rock.

The missions in each campaign range from the standard build base and wipe enemy out, to the protect a person/base for a set amount of time, to having a bunch of people and fighting your way through the map (no base, hero must survive, etc etc etc). A pretty good mix. Some of the missions are pretty challenging as well - you have to balance your offense and defence carefully, otherwise you'll get counter-attacked by the computer, who will kick your ass if you're not careful enough.

It's a very good game, and not like most RTS's.

Fuckin' A it was! The last clip isn't bad either, and the last mission is definitely the coolest...very Starcraft-ish in its execution (although not completely :(). Still, I wish the game had more cinematics like in Starcraft as well. Guess they just didn't have the time :D.

I haven't had the chance to see the ending cinematics yet, and I was a little disappointed that the ingame cutscenes were done with the game engine rather than fully rendered movies, but oh well... Can't have everything.

But still... In the very beginning when they have that closeup of the bird... that's as close to movie-quality graphics as I've ever seen in a game.

Didn't have the time...... The game was supposed to be out a year ago. Its a good game but after Starcraft I was a little disappointed. I also though there were going to be more role-playing aspects. For instance getting to choose a class or the way a pc develops. Oh well more porn and then back to the orc missions.

Apparently moving to some place called "Virginia". From what I can gather about the name, every woman there is called Virginia and is a virgin. Or possibly the guy who founded the state or something had a wife called Virginia. Or a daughter. Or he was a virgin, and wanted only virgin's there. Or he wanted to be a virgin again so he could lose his virginity.

    Something like that.

    It's all that.

Toss in The Mothman and the scent of curing tobacco wafting across from the North Carolina border, and you have it down. There's also some Navy yards and a store.

Milo what is the deal with Mothman? Besides that is West Virginia. Yeah I know BIG difference. So what is good about the state? Well so far not much. Lots of old presidents came from here and lots of civil war battles were fought here. But come on what about the last 150 years? Oh and let me tell you the chicks here, not much chance of me breaking the marital vows. Although (evil chuckel) I did write my owns vows and fidelity was not mentioned. (gives each dog a pat on the head)

Fidelity is kind of understood...implicit if you will. After all, if memory serves, they aren't explicit mentioned in the 'regular' marriage vows. As if you'd cheat anyway.

The deal with Mothman? He's freaky, that's what. Also... CHAPSTICK. *gasp*

Well, there's Virginia Beach. Also, depending on where you are in-state, there's a monstrously, gigantically, frightfully, humongous Mall within driving distance. Mall of America (???), I think... I was there once, and it was approx. 33 times the size of an average mall.

There's a lot of statues of important figures from the Civil War, and you can tell how they died by how many legs their statue horse has touching the ground. 3 means they died in combat, 2 means they were scalped, 1 means they thought they were better horsemen than they actually were.

Oh, and lastly, IT GETS HOT AS FUCK DURING THE SUMMER. Kill yourself hot. Humid. And after storms, these huge frogs that look like piles of gooey shit infest the streets and trip you.

The girls on Virginia Beach aren't so bad.

Yeah Milo time to lay off the acid. Mall of America is in Minnisota about 16 hours from here. Virginia beach is for the people from D.C. apparantly the locals all go to Myrtle Beach in SC. Besides perhaps I was a little harsh there are some fine local breweries here and *HIC* they aint so bad. The chicks are still sub par, even with the beer goggles.
