    Hi.

I was wondering what will happen to this site after the release? Will they include any place here where you can upload any mods and such?

Thats all and it upped my post count with one. Tihi.

    Hi PeeCee,

Yes, we hope to have AGES up and running by release (a hiccup with my computer upgrade has caused delays but I'm still hopeful), which will have all sorts of mod info - growing daily we hope!

    Sounds good scorpios.

I was wondering. Do you know if there is an option to 'lock' your mods, so no one can modify them?

I think I read that you can't alter the maps that ships with the game.

I hate to spend weeks and maybe even months on a mod, only to have someone opening it and do a few changes and then passing it of as their own.

It would make since to have a lock, and I'm really happy they'll have an on uploads page.

    Locking mods

I'm pretty sure that once you finish designing your mod - you 'compile' it into the final 'module' that the game accesses and this locks it up.

I'll have to admit we are operating in a bit of an information vacuum at the moment, only a few (legal) copies of WorldEditor are floating around and I'm not lucky enough to have one, so I'm only going on snippets of info from Troika.

    Thanks Archangel and Scorpios.

I'll guess I have to wait a while. But it do sounds like you are right, Scorp. The game should compile them, but then again...I read somewhere. Don't know if it was a faq or a board or even a reply from Troika, that the mods that we make will be open. This was a while ago, and maybe they have changed it or I was reading it wrong.

    Checked the UberFAQ

Found an old post confirming that WorldEd can 'decompress' any mod and let you fiddle about with it. Hopefully by next month we'll know if that is still gospel...

    Ok Scorpios.

If that is tha case, why can't we edit the mods that ships with the editor? I think I read it in an interview or something that the 'original' game and the multiplayer games are locked.

But it is as you say. We will know in a month or so.

From what I've read, I think after you compile your mod you can lock it, preventing someone else from editing it with WorldEd. Not sure on this though as I cannot find the original article.

I, the almighty Father, have perfomed a miracle this day. The long dead thread of "Is this the right place?" has been resurrected. And to The_Bob, who had used my name in vain
as well as wishing to lie with a man as one lies with a woman; thou hast been doomed to Lucifer's eternal hell for wishing to do the detestable. I now have the power to use the keyboard.

God, I think you need a miracle, because you have insulted one of the those people, who can play the hard way.

See. This is why I thing there should be a personality test during the registration process.
Then all of those with a GOD complex could be weeded out.

    *blink*blink*

Excepting, of course, or current staff of Admins/Moderators who are doing a fine and outstanding job!!

*starts to sweat and looks for the hammer of the heavens*

I KNEW God was a necromancer.

That entire resurrection of Jesus was pretty suspicious, but now we have hard evidence.

Thou ist blessed with knowledge beyond thine age, Frigo. For thou hast uncovered a great truth - necromany is my divine art. To create, to instill life; these were the purposes of the spawning of thee.

    Forever hold my word. :)

Is'nt the "Let the children come to me" phrase? also a bit suspicious? Let's hope that it mean something else that I think it meant.

Oh gods...now we only need a Napolean, Jesus, or an Anastasia, and we have a full house!

PS: What's wrong with the avatar of saatan54?
